MayflowerElectronics reacted to ZacDaMan72 in Best headphones between $300 and $400!
Get the HD 600 and a proper amp/DAC combo, like the O2/ODAC.

Probably not, but plug the USB in the PS4 and see what happens.

MayflowerElectronics got a reaction from Lays in Decent Stereo Monitors/Speakers
There are good monitors, but they don't come with a sub. There's not a good combo for that price.
Your best bet is some 5'' monitors, they'll have enough bass you won't need a subwoofer. I use these at the shop - http://www.fullcompass.com/product/238886.html?utm_source=googleps&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=googleps&gclid=CjwKEAiAj-KiBRC48YzhnLSg0D0SJAClOhK3yja4_LII_ZGVB9KQsK2pl6GNxHJv2tEA55H0S3L2aRoClX3w_wcB
They have more than enough bass.

MayflowerElectronics got a reaction from Lays in In need of some headphone help please.
Eh, I would probably just not use any software. Most of it is built in the game anyway.
As for headphone suggestions I'd grab some DT 990's or AKG K612's.

MayflowerElectronics reacted to ShearMe in Decent pair of earphones for music
If cheaper really is better, NuForce NE-600X is a great option. I've had more expensive stuff and like my 600X the best so far.
"Earphones" isn't really a thing, so you'll just have to forgive those who tried to help without nitpicking about your word selection.

MayflowerElectronics reacted to t0wer in What causes impedance?
everywhere, because inductors pass DC and will just heat up destroying the driver.
inductors block AC through inductance and reactance, limiting the current.

MayflowerElectronics got a reaction from Ardacer in What is the best gaming headset right now?
I highly suggest you read the audio FAQ.
If you really want the best you'll get a pair of headphones and a desktop mic. There are passible headsets, but nothing great.
I really suggest getting something like AKG K612's or DT 990's + mod mic or a blue snowflake.

MayflowerElectronics reacted to Nuluvius in How loud do open headphones get?
Presumably it would depend on the quality/type of headphone and the volume...

MayflowerElectronics got a reaction from Speedbird in Soundcard PCIe lanes
No, the sound card won't effect the GPU.
Also don't spend more than $20 on a sound card. Anything higher is a waste of money.

Yeah just get a normal home theater reciever. Most of them take optical audio which your motherboard has built in.

There's a difference between music consumption and music production.

MayflowerElectronics reacted to ZackerTheScaR in Tube vs Solid state explained
For short: If you're using it as a computer amplifier, solid state. If you want a amplifier for your electric guitar or bass, tube.
Long answer: Tubes will have something if left on over time called overdrive. This kind of overdrive causes distortion, which is great for guitarists and bassist, not so much for the listening music amplifier. I won't talk about preamp tubes now but power tubes. BOTH EL34 and 6L6(most popular power amp tubes) overheat, causing overdriven sounds, making the output warmer and rougher. Solid states don't suffer from this as they are generally cooler than tubes, and lasts longer. Tubes also need to be replaced over time, as the heat lowers(or highers, I forgot) the pressure in the tubes.
Why I bothered to write this? Easy. I see people confused over this and needing clarification. I as a musician and a techie, know the difference between the two, and so I wrote this topic.

Why do people keep saying that? We have more than enough people on this forum with experience.
OP - Id suggest some HE-400i's. They are cheaper than both and have what you are looking for.
The HD800s will be too bright for you, I wouldn't get them.
DT 990s may also work for you.
