Sure I can put some old matchbox cars in the package
-
Unfortunately it would be a giant waste with no real improvement. Basically everything from the hd518 to the hd650 all sound the same. I've tested everything from the 555 to the hd600 and they all sound the same. I would show you the graph but I'm on mobile. More or less, the hd558 has nearly identical response as a hd650.

I have big head and medium ears, both headphones will fit and are both comfortable. The dt 990 is better, the q701 headband digs into your head after about 20 miniutes.

I don't want to get involved in this thread, just saying this for the last time. Our video wasn't meant to be an advertisement. I told Logan multiple times to NOT say anything about our products, he did anyway. The video was a quick and dirty video covering some basics in audio with laymens terms. I would need a 2 hour video to explain everything properly and no one wants to watch that. For everyone calling the video bullshit, please prove me wrong with a proper test and I will eat my words, or my pants, whichever one you want.

I can't get a hold of anyone. I emailed Chris and he hasn't gotten back to me in a while. Not sure what's going on?

MrSpeakers Mad dogs and Schiit Stack(Magni/Modi) or others?
MayflowerElectronics replied to geogga's topic in Audio
This needs to be tested correctly. If you just plug a headphone into one and listen to music, that's not a proper test. You need to do a blind test with someone to help you switch between headphone amps. Now the whole point of a headphone amp is to make the music louder, and add no effects, reverberations, ect ect. You shouldn't have to LISTEN to an amp, you should listen to the headphones. So a proper test would be which sounds more neutral, not different. Different does not equal better. The fact is that the shit stack is a very simple badly designed amp and DAC combo that's been marketed well. The engineering done with the objective2 is much better than anything from schiit. Alternatively, they (shit stack) will sound terrible on low impedance, high sensitive headphones. It comes as stock with 7x gain, which is WAY to much for about 90% of the headphones on the market. Though I doubt you'll read this anyway, but this test has been done before and the o2 is just better. People use the excuse that "it's cheaper". By the time you add RCA and USB cables + shipping, you are right in line with what the o2/ODAC costs. Similarly, if you just need an amp, the o2 is $15 more. Not a valid excuse. heh funny stuff, yes, you'll need to do a proper blind test to remove any bias. -
MrSpeakers Mad dogs and Schiit Stack(Magni/Modi) or others?

It's measurably and audibly better. -
Yes, ours will increase your bass response 10 fold and increase the sibilance. Ours also has smoother highs and faster mids. No, there is no audible difference.

He's a funny guy, you have to read between the lines for his humor.

And you think the HD700's do? Looks are subjective, and who cares what it looks like. When it's on your head you can't see.
-
HE-500's, AKG K712 pro's are much better options in the $600 range.
-
Lol the 518's actually look the best.
-
Lol he already has teh 518's.
-
How much do you have to spend?
-
Obligatory headphone + mic post. RMA your headset and sell it on eBay if they're giving you problems. Spend the rest on good headphones + zalman clip on mic.
-
I buy almost all of my headphones used. If people can afford $200 + headphones, I'm sure they shower. Most headphones have replaceable pads, and if you think that's "gross", public bathrooms/door knobs are much more disgusting.
-
HD700's aren't that great. We are the least expensive if that tickles your pickles, we also have more options/customization if that tickles your pickle.

Used pair of DT770's/880's/990's.

MrSpeakers Mad dogs and Schiit Stack(Magni/Modi) or others?
MayflowerElectronics replied to geogga's topic in Audio
No, no difference. o2/ODAC has 2x and 6.5x gain as standard. All headphones will benefit from a good amp/DAC. -

Word to the wise, take everything headfi says with a grain of salt. Everyone knows my thoughts about schiit, and most of the people on this forum don't like them.
