I currently have an audio technica Ath-AD900X, and I'm planning to get an o2 + odac combo as well. I'm looking to upgrade the headphones as well, and i'm considering the Hifiman he400 ($299 new, approx $250 used), the Sennheiser HD600 ($299 new, aprox $220 used) and the mayflower Electronics t50rp v1 + headband & v3 earpads (total $261).
I've heard the HD600 and the He400i in a shop before, but I can't get hold of the original he400 or the mayflower t50rp. I normally listen to pop, rock, electronic and etherial sounding music and from what I heard, I preferred the He-400i to the HD600. How different does the he400 sound to the he400i, as some have said that they changed the sound signature for the two headphones, and how do the t50rp v1s sound by comparison? Also, I'm assuming that the t50rp with the headband and earpads will be a lot more comfortable than the he400.
Which headphone do you recommend and what do you generally prefer, comfort or sound quality?
