  1. I'd upgrade from my aging i7 930. I've been doing a lot of 3D rendering for school, so it would certainly come in useful for that!
  2. So my desktop computer been serving me well. It still runs just fine but after four years the motherboard is starting to sorely lack some of the newer standard features. Mostly I'd just like to ask opinions from more experienced people about the best route to take. Unfortunately it's a socket 1366 system so this won't be a quickie update. Mostly I want onboard SATA 6gb and PCIE 3 when all's said and done. My most common usages for my computer are gaming and 3D modeling. 3. Yes, I'm a new poster, but I've been watching Linus for a couple weeks now so might as well sign up, right? This giveaway wouldn't just upgrade my computer, but my i7-930 would pass on to my dad to upgrade his 3D drafting computer, which is chugging along on an Athlon 64 with 2.5 gigs of DDR1.
