  1. Hey all. I'm having trouble with opening ports for my security system. I had a video recorder fail. Replaced it. Now I cannot access it remotely. I set up port forward rules for 80, 8000, and 1050. 80 and 8000 are open. 1050 is not. I cannot get it to open. The old system worked fine for the year and a half it was running. I set three port forwards. All are from anywhere. All are protocol both. All are showing 192.168.1.200:80, 192.168.1.200:8000, and 192.168.1.200:1050. Controller 5.3.8 USG3 version 4.3.39.4971515 I called my ISP to make sure they were not blocking anything. They confirmed they are not. Am I missing a rule? Open to all troubleshooting. I posted to Reddit too Thanks.
  2. I reset the usg and reentered the static information and it worked. Sorry to waste time! Close thread.
  3. Good evening, I upgraded my internet speeds through my ISP. They removed my old modem and replaced it with with a new, two box system. The old modem was a combo modem/router that was set to the static IP that went to my USG then onto the switch and then to the security nvr. Everything had an internet connection and I could access my security remotely through the static. The new modem is a two box system. A modem that “requires a public ip” then a router that has the static ip that then goes to the USG then switch then nvr. The router from the isp is set to bridge mode. They say they can see the USG connected but I cannot get internet. If I bypass the router I can get internet to work, but I cannot get remote access to my security. The old system worked fine. The new one does not work. I have had a technician from spectrum out for four hours and they have swapped the router twice now. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. This is my first time working with a two box system from my isp. Thank you for any and all assistance.
  4. I haven’t used a pi at all and am not familiar with what it can and cannot do. It would be nice to update from another pc but I wasn’t sure of what programs to use.
  5. I was thinking way too complicated. This is working great. Thank you.
  6. I was not sure where specifically to post this. I have a store that I would like to set up a two or three television menu set up. One with a static menu, one with a rotating menu, and one with ads I create on it. I wanted to see if this is something I could do with a NuC or a usb pc or even just a small micropc. I have can use a powerline adapter or wifi. I'd love to have it set up to run the two or three monitors and be able to update the images from a different pc. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a program you would recommend? I appreciate any help or if someone could lead me to a forum of something similar. I could not find anything in the search. Thank you!
  7. It was Paypal being a pain. Just got it to allow the charge today. I will see if it connects now. Thanks for the advice!
  8. I do not believe it has been a year but I will thank you. Any specific mod or will it get sent to whoever can help? Thanks man.
  9. I subscribed at launch for the yearly sub. I have been gone for a week and came back to find I no longer have access and am no longer a floatplane pilot. Do I not get to re-up on my yearly? Has it already expired? Has anyone else had this issue? Did something change this week to how we access Floatplane? Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I wanted to check if it is on my end or if something has changed. I tried the "if you were billed and lost access page" but I have not been able to fix it. Thanks guys
  10. I solved it. It was because the item my PoS sent with tier set up was a router NOT a switch. I turned off my wifi on one of my desktops. I hooked the "router" from them to the desktop by lan with nothing in the wan port. I logged into the browser set up. disabled DHCP and added a static IP different then everything else. I then took the Lan from my switch in my office and connected it to the new switch ( the router but I turned off the DHCP which means it isnt trying to grab anything anymore) into a lan port ignoring the Wan port. Then I took another lan into the pc and all is well now, Wifi works and all of it. So thanks for the support man!
  11. Have any suggestions on how to get a wired connection three rooms away without it?
  12. so can I disable that extra stuff? All i want is for it to act exclusively as a switch. I feel as though it is trying to take over as the main router.
  13. So the router they sent doesn't work as a switch and I should get a switch instead?
  14. Good afternoon, I am having issues adding a switch to my network at my office. I currently have my set up as Modem to the firewall (ubiquiti unifi security gate) to my switch (netgear gs 105) then the switch has one port going to my desktop, one to my security dvr, and one going to my access point (ubiquiti unifi uap-ac-pro-us). My Point-of-Sale needs a switch in my showroom. My network equipment is in my back office. The switch that came with my PoS package was a TP-link 8-port cable/DSL router. I ran a 75 foot cat6 cable through the ceiling from the netgear switch to the showroom. There I connected to the Tp-link switch. Once I did all my other connections stopped working. When I ran the troubleshooter through a desktop I have on wifi it says there is a DNS error. I do have a static IP through my ISP so I can monitor my security off site. Is the 8-port router conflicting with my other set up? Do I need a different switch for the showroom? Is there a way to may the 8-port router work as just a bridge? I am not an expert when it comes to networking, It took hours just to add the firewall in because I thought it was a switch. Looking for any and all help or explanation on what is going on. Thank you
  15. Ok so I can hook up my old monitor just fine. Which is HDMI to HDMI. So I think it's an error with the cable or maybe the new monitor. I guess check this as solved and I will update it when I try a VGA to HDMI or something. I don't know. sI'll ee what I can do
