it's cool man, but I wouldn't either count this as a photo- more like a photo manipulation...but it's cool- looks good.

8/10 good one, I would prefer if it was a bit off center i think it would give it a spiral look and spirals are great composition wise...is it just me or is the center of the image a bit burned out?
here is a bw one, it looks nice in color too, but i prefer it bw

I have FreeNAS and I also use plex, my NAS  pc is an old P4-it doesn't transcode the video, the receiving device does (and that is my i7) so it will work fine. You should check freeNAS mybe find an old PC and build you NAS yourself it would be much much cheaper....

Or get the 24inch 4K and enjoy 60Hz. Sure it's more expensive, but it also a better monitor.
Plus it will be easier to play 1080p games on it, as it's only 24inch and not 28inch.

you should carefully plan how you buy your lenses. Prime lenses are usually sharper, and faster (meaning they have the lower f number). Zoom lenses are more versatile. I would probably go with the kit lens in the begining 18-55, then buy a decent 50 mm (1.4 would be awesome) and/or a nice zoom lense anything from 85mm,100mm,135 mm- and then uprgade the zoom lense depending on what are you going to do more landscapes or portaraits (for this I would recommend 70-200 mm f2.8- I think that tamron does a pretty decent one and lot cheaper than the canon version- or 18-50 mm (or is it 17-50 mm) at f2,8 or f 4 if you can't afford the f2,8 version). Also invest in a decent tripod with a ball head . And some ND filters (you'll find them useful for long exposures especially during daytime). canon 60d is a nice camera, 70D is newer, 6D has a full frame sensor (but it cost a lot more).I would go for a cheaper canon that supports Magic Lantern (especially because you could find the custom exposure time feature very useful for astrophotography without the need to buy  any additional equipment.

Now you are just making no sense. Honestly technology in this camera was never professional, not now, not 5 years ago- because professional users couldn't use it to get what they want out of their photos.I can back it up with examples but I don't see the necessity for it. The build quality and the amount possibilities make it low level as compared to high end stuff. Also "point and shoot" is a term that is used to describe the form factor itself as opposed for example a DSLR . Same goes with the USB 3.0  analogy, it's more expensive to make  and implement so it won't be found on a low-level product. So no one is trying to lessen the value of this product just put it in the right place. If you want a good comparison to this I would say that you can compare this to a low end GPU vs higher end GPU (Linus has a video about it ) With cameras the reasoning is very similar. So you will have a camera, it will shoot pictures, it will take some form of video, but will you take good photos in low light , get nice bokeh or even sharp and accurate focus, not to mention the shutter lag of these type of cameras-you won't. Because  the manufacturer would have to spend a lot more money to implement this and it wouldn't be profitable at this price. Above, I was joking ,as I said, about you pointing and shooting, if you don't understand or are somehow offended by my type of humor I apologize.  I hope my explanation helps, as getting help and advice is the point of this forum, unless you consider me to be stupid or unless you're just being a dick.

it's very difficult to answer this question, because there is no rule of thumb for this, but the companies usually say in which quartal (Q) are they going to release their new stuff. They do sometimes tend to have new releases ready for big trade shows , such as Computex.

There really isn't any reasons IMHO to go with a manual lens. You won't learn anything different. Seeing as most cameras can still do TTL metering with non-CPU lenses, you just put yourself a disadvantage when it comes to focusing (have fun tracking moving objects, unless you bring a follow focus around with you).
OP: I would suggest going with the Nikon 50mm 1.8G or Nikon 35mm 1.8G. See if you can use the lens first before you buy and then decide which you'd prefer. I usually walk around with my Nikon 50mm 1.8G on my D7100, but I do sometimes find that it's too close. Then again, sometimes it's just the perfect FoV

isn't super takumar 1,4? old slr lenses can be good and can be found really cheap, but be careful about their condition, and also they are all manual, and you will need an adapter. also the crop factor will be almost 2.0 (so a 50mm would be an 100mm lens ) and you will probably lose up to 1 stop of light ( so 1.4 will be 2.8 ). This can be a great budget option, but I wouldn't recommend it to a beginer, there is a lot of reading to do about this- problems with focusing to infinity. Though these lenses are very good for video...

well, prime lenses are usually better in terms of sharpness (to simplify this- less glass parts more sharpness) 50 mm isn't optimal for landscapes because (especially on a crop sensor camera like yours) won't give you a lot of "space" but it will perform great in low light(eve the cheap 1.8 ) For macro shots you have to check the focusing distance, and you can get some extension tubes for macros (you will lose sharpness and light but it can give you more magnification)

PS- these are all budget advices- I'm also aware that there are super expensive, high quality lenses.

god knows I love ASUS and stuff they do- but that gold. Soooo ugly... say: I seen that no one mentioned ASUS Hero or Gene - I think this is a cool build- but if you are not going to upgrade a lot, why wouldn't you go for an mATX board, smaller case (potentially cheaper) I think you could fit everything in a cool looking smaller system and spend more money on a bigger ssd or something. btw crucial m4 is also a great choice (when it comes to storage always go for the stuff that is rated as reliable rather than superfast- you won't notice the difference in speed so much but if your system goes down you will notice that). Just think about the stuff you are going to do with your computer. You should also consider AMD- for example FX 8350 is slightly under the i5 but it's cheaper, and has 8 cores- if you are planing to do mostly gaming, and some let's say video work that utilizes those 8 cores (unlike gaming does)- it could possibly be a better value option, since the amd boards tend to be a bit cheaper and usually offer more features than intel boards. What I'm trying to say it's not the best processor, gpu or ssd you need it's important to put your money where it counts for your usage.  I'm neither Intel or AMD fanboy (I use Intel and nVidia, currently but I had AMD systems before) Just for the record.

I am in the same boat, however I have the disease to want the best, and by that I mean some of the work I do on the daily in Photoshop requires intense ram/cpu/gpu power that most Apple laptops don't offer for a reasonable price or at all. So I want a top of the line gaming PC notebook that has all that power for around $1800 - $2.3k that will run and render things with ease.

Bro you have better equipment than I do  if you do own those lenses. Trust me, camera gear is important- but nowadays it's software that makes the real difference. I myself have been retouching photos for ages, but I didn't shoot them myself (had no gear- I learned to retouch photos as a graphic designer). Lightroom is a great start, but it's good to know what's out there, try to pull out the maximum from what you have at first.
