  1. I did look into the your suggestions. You were the only one to respond at the time. Im not comfortable buying used electronics. I made my choice after watching austin evans video on it.
  2. I ended upp going with Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM, i also bought an extra 4gb of ram and a 128gb ssd
  3. whats your opinion of the two laptops I mentioned in the first comment? would the Acer Aspire 1 be good enough to handle web browsing and photo editing?
  4. Im in california,USA. I have a budget around $470 (USD) . I'd prefer a 1920x1080 resolution since this will mainly be for tv/movie watching
  5. I found this Acer Aspire 1 on amazon for $210 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0746NCNSG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1, I'm trying to figure out if this will be good enough or would someone be able to recommend another laptop. The laptop will be used to watch movies and netflix and I would like to be able to use adobe photoshop. Im in california,USA. I have a budget around $470 (USD) . I'd prefer a 1920x1080 resolution since this will mainly be for tv/movie watching, Adobe Photoshop Im not interested in refurbished laptops. This laptop will be a gift for a family member, she wont be playing games on this. Strictly movies, netflix, and some photoediting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  6. Pohernori - I would like to play skyrim with mods to the extent that its very realistic, Manny - where should I look to learn how to disable ALU's and what does disabling them do to help? Manny - Should I be worried that my current CPU will bottleneck the graphics cards you have mentioned? Should I expect to see frame rates for 1440p gameplay around 60 FPS or lower? I intend to upgrade my cpu to a i7 4790K further down the road.
  7. I've only had my current computer for about 4 months and I had planned on buying a strix 980graphics card, when I had the money. I was just recently told that my CPU would bottleneck the graphics card, so without having to change my CPU and Mobo can I get a graphics card for gaming (that is better than my current 650 Ti) for a 1440p monitor that wont be bottle necked by a AMD 8320 CPU. My price range is a maximum of $500. Any advice or help is appreciated. I tend to play Bethesda game most often with texture mods enabled. Current PC: CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate 99.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair 750W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) Monitor: BenQ GW2765HT 60Hz 27.0" Monitor
  8. If I buy a new cpu and mobo will I have to wipe my storage drives? For instance I have some programs like visual studio for my computer science classes on my C:/ drive...
  9. Can you guys tell me what about my CPU will cause the 980 to bottleneck?
  10. Well I've only had this computer for about 4-5 months so I'd like to spend less than $500-$600 I only intend to upgrade my CPU + Mobo so that the 980 wont bottleneck and for better power efficiency
  11. After asking advise about graphics cards, I decided that I will be buying a strix 980 graphics card. However it would seem that my AMD FX-8320 CPU and Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard will be bottlenecks for this graphics card. So I figured I should upgrade my CPU to a i7 4790K and a motherboard I've yet to choose. All help appreciated. I need help deciding a CPU and a Motherboard that will run with my current pc parts and the 980 graphics card. All help appreciated. Current PC: Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate 99.0 CFM Liquid If you need to know what the other components are just say so. All help appreciated.
  12. Any specific gear to watch closely tabasco? I do plan to upgrade my CPU to a 4790K and my mother board so that they will not bottleneck the strix 980 I plan to buy.
  13. If I were to get a 4790K cpu, what motherboard might you recommend?
  14. Hello friends, Im in the market for a new graphics card. I'm looking at a budget maximum of around $500. I'm having trouble deciding which card I should buy, I'm mainly looking at the strix 980. But i'm mainly looking for a card that will run well on my monitor's native resolution of 1440p. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. My current PC specs minus my current 650 ti graphics card: CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate 99.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair 750W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) Monitor: BenQ GW2765HT 60Hz 27.0" Monitor ($349.00 @ B&H) Changes to plan: I will be upgrading my CPU to a core i7 4790K and Am now also looking for a motherboard
