Highly recommend this! I bought a 256gb last Christmas for $50. It's a solid performing drive on a day to day basis. I installed it in my wife's computer and it's been running flawlessly for months.

Crap US only. I'd snag one right away if only they'd ship outside of the US
edit: it looks like they can ship internationally.....for the same price of the SSD. I really need to move to murica.

This is a recertified 128gb ssd from crucial. It may not be the fastest, but boy is it cheap. At 30$ USD I think I'm going to get 5 of them.....

BuntzenB reacted to Dabombinable in Is Kingston feeding me bullshit or are their ssds not actually less than advertised?
840's slow down after a while, so don't buy them (I'm not sure about 850's).

BuntzenB got a reaction from TheSLSAMG in Is Kingston feeding me bullshit or are their ssds not actually less than advertised?
I can vouch for this I in fact have 4 v300s
2 are from before the unannounced NAND switch and 2 are from after and holy shit what a difference. Like saturating a 6gb/s lane to being around 300 mB/s really a shame they were so cheap and I liked them so much... oh well.

BuntzenB reacted to ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, in Is Kingston feeding me bullshit or are their ssds not actually less than advertised?
Try ATTO. Crystalmark is old and uses uncompressed data where ATTO is compressed.

V300s are slower than advertised.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand
As for CrystalDiskMark not being accurate, I'm not sure, but the V300 has known speed issues because of a unannounced switch to Micron NAND.

No, take out your GPU and plug your monitor in to the motherboard.

BuntzenB reacted to Virus__ in Fixit Pricing
Please don't remove me D=
Most places where I am start at $50 an hour, or $75 an hour if they come to you, for general things and diagnosing problems. Back ups & virus/malware removal are extra as normal. I am also pretty sure one store charge an extra $150 to build, stress test (24 hours) & cable manage a custom built PC.
That's all in Australian dollars by the way.

BuntzenB reacted to minibois in Fixit Pricing
Kinda depends on what component and what extra stuff you will do.
Adding some more RAM takes 2 minutes or so only, it's so easy. Something like 15 USD or.
Changing GPU is not extremely difficult, but will you install new drivers and uninstall old ones for them too? If you do that too, around 30 USD.
A CPU and/or mobo upgrade is a bit harder because sometimes you have to reinstall Windows too. Not sure what kind of price you can put on that..
And will you charge the customer for thermal paste too? That's some stuff to think about

BuntzenB reacted to minibois in Pokémon TCG thread
Any Pokémon TCG collectors here?
I have been collecting all my life now and have about 8500 unique cards (I count holos as separate cards, but do not count 1st editions or whatever as multiple).
I have 5 binders filled right now and about to start with my 6th. I also have 35 of these Pokemon tins. Not all of them are new.
Collected so many cards and other stuff over the years.. Probably have like 15K double cards now
By the way, I do not play the game. Never wanted to learn it or something..
So what about you guys? I don't think there will be many collectors here (if any ), so it's ok to discuss the Pokémon games here too
Have been playing pretty much all main series one since I was 5 or something

BuntzenB reacted to Notree in Fixit Pricing
All depends of pricing of local shops in your area. Most shops around here charge $40-$60 for like virus removal and file backup. I'd say just charge in the low $30 range untill you get a bunch of happy customers word will spread and raise your prices lol

BuntzenB reacted to minibois in Fixit Pricing
15 USD/euros per hour?
Maybe set prices for different things.
Like Virus removal: 20 USD.
Windows install: 25 USD
etc.

sounds like a drive issue to me. Defrag/ make sure trim is running. What drive did you put in there? Check its smart values and stuff. Also do a antivirus scan and reinstall windows.

BuntzenB got a reaction from blackadder in Windows 8.1 error code 0xc000000e
Ah i think i know your problem. The fx-8350 is supported however I think that is true only on BIOS version 7640vBD or 7640vD and above which is unfortunate for you. Basically the board needs an update. To do that download the top BIOS here http://us.msi.com/support/mb/990FXAGD80V2.html#down-biosand then load it onto a usb and go into your bios and select the update from usb feature. The only problem is that you cant boot because rn your bios and cpu aren't compatible. Unless you have another chip lying around i recommend bringing this to a tech shop thing.

BuntzenB reacted to DatGuyFantasy in Computer running ALOT slower
Hey guys, i have help my sister build her new computer. we have used some of my old parts to save some money on the build.
Pc Specs:
CPU - AMD FX8350
Ram - 4GB corsair vengeance
GPU - Nvidia GTX 550 it
Power supply - coolermaster (for got the rest) 500 watt
Motherboard - msi 990fxa-gd65
After building the PC, the computer is REALLY slow. When lunching a program like league for example, it take a very long time to load the launcher and it also takes a very lone time to load in to the game.
The Other problem i have with the computer is, when you shut down or reset the computer , then turn it on it will automatically shut down with out warning. it keep doing that until you unplug the computer and hold the power button for a few second. All this has never happened before. i have search many forms for help, and many have said to test the hard drive (which i have not done yet)
.
Thanks!

@DatGuyFantasy Defrag the hard drive, run ccleaner, scan for malware, and holy shit 4GB of RAM? How do you live?
