BuntzenB got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in is there a way to get MSI afterburner to display my actual clock speeds?
Well i just tried the latest version on both an amd and a gtx and my second hypothesis was correct! The amd shows the clock while the gtx only shows +x. No way to change that as far as I know... Sorry.
TL;DR amd shows clock while nvidia shows overclock

    Hey!

We've added Google Play music as another destination for the audio podcast version of the WAN Show. If all things go well, it should be available for download next week.

ALL THE TIME people are like "Hey Ben my Mac has been acting weird lately with ads and stuff and its slow and I cant open stuff" (for the record I have a Windows). And I'll say something along the lines of "Do you have a virus?" And without fail every single one of them is like "Macs don't get viruses dumb ***" and I will just facepalm for the rest of my life (and install something like AVAST) One time I even had to do this for my sister and it was realllly bad (and i think her HDD was dying because it was making the weird clickies) and I installed AVG and she left it sort of running for around 2 days without checking on it and when she turned it on it hung on the login screen and she brought it into the Mac store and blamed me for breaking her Mac, and then to make matters worse at the Mac store the dude there told her that AVAST is bad for her computer and it doesnt need anything else because it can't get viruses. WOW

*I have been contacted by the almighty Linus*
Thanks for the answer Linus (praised be) and I really appreciate the fact that you do post the WAN show for free on soundcloud, but Google Play Music recently added support for podcasts (not sure if it is a USA only type thing...) and it would be really great if the WAN show were to be on there. Problem is - to post a podcast on GPlay Music, one needs the worldwide distribution rights (which unfortunately I do not have).  It would be awesome if you could add the podcast to Google Play. Link here: https://play.google.com/music/podcasts/publish?u=0#
    Thanks so much

I agree with your post at some points, but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, since you compared Node, Angular and jQuery, calling all of them frameworks. Node is a runtime environment for JS on desktop, Angular is a JavaScript front-end framework and jQuery is a front-end library.

Sorry but where did I compare them? Framework is applied in the very broad sense only - as was the context. Seems that it is you who clearly have no idea what you are talking about I am afraid

"Everyone who does not think of Javascript as the best scripting language out there is just too stupid" (sorry for paraphrasing your too long posting) is not exactly a good point.

Neither Pascal/Delphi nor Visual Basic are "deprecated" or "truly worthy to be hated", but then again, none of them are scripting languages. I think all of us agree with you that there are languages with which no one should be bothered, I still think you lost the track.

Sorry but where exactly did I say or elude to that?

You've missed the point completely. The point was simply 'the right tool for the right job' and if you are incapable of appreciating that fact then you are clearly inexperienced.
They are in no way industry relevant choices anymore - unless of course one is going to specifically support legacy code.

    Let me remind you:
You can perfectly have a ane aversion towards Javascript and still have the fundamental knowledge to know why. And, with all due respect, "industry relevant choices" are rarely made for technical reasons; not that "the industry" wouldn't use Pascal/Delphi or Basic anymore. Long-term projects don't change their platforms every two years. Did you know that COBOL is still a big player in the financial industry?

Javascript sucks. The fact that there is an overwhelming amount of incompatible Javascript libraries does not invalidate that.

I would list a lot of things before JS
For example: Ruby, sh, Python, LUA, PHP....
what makes you so sure that it is the best scripting language? Assertations need to be backed up - questions don't.

We allow downloads on Soundcloud, so you can play it on whatever you want with no DRM.

Most of the revenue for WAN Show comes from the sponsors who buy placement in it, so we ultimately don't give a crap where/how you listen/watch it

I just can't really be bothered to go chasing links... fine whatever.

The most glaringly obvious candidate is this particular line (#23):
this.Note = Note; What are you hoping to accomplish with that? You are assigning the instance to itself and it has not been instantiated thus it will have a default value of null. You later operate upon this uninitialized variable in your actionPerformed method:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException at RightClickMenu.actionPerformed(RightClickMenu.java:81) Which the first two lines of your stack trace is telling you...

I personally would definitely get that replaced. It's very exciting to get new hardware and stuff, but the feeling when it breaks is about 10^10000 times more annoying than RMAing it (trust me, just did that math )
So yes I would get that replaced.

BuntzenB got a reaction from Nord in New build Windows 10 behaving oddly
Well you can see if it is hardware or just your install by running linux on a usb (there is a wealth of tutorials on that. eg. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/running-linux-usb-right/). However I think it is just a weird windows thing (it's still really buggy - I essentially view it as it is still in beta....) and therefore a full reinstall would fix it, I assume.

BuntzenB reacted to Nord in New build Windows 10 behaving oddly
Pretty much what BuntzenB said, windows10 is indeed still a beta, kinda. Thats why it was(or still is?), to a certain degree, free.
"If you are not paying for it, you are not the customer, you are the product being sold" - in that case, you are the (beta)tester. (and yes I realize one could also buy win10, but the core message still is valid non the less.)

If you dont wanna do the Linux boot because of reasons, you can try a clean win10 installation or just rollback to win 8.1 or even better win 7, neither of these OS'es will have the mentioned issue, and if they do, you at least know its hardware releated (which I do not think).
