  1. eh doom runs at 60FPS on console. The console will always run like crap, that's how it's designed to run. It's designed to take as much of your money as possible, for as little in return as possible. Seems like a weird conspiracy theory, the PC market does the same thing, PC players are on the same treadmill just different names, at least on the console space there is guaranteed compatibility.
  2. consoles don't vary clocks based on temp
  3. Fallout 4 hasn't been cheap enough for me to buy. But DOOM is my game of the year
  4. Okay play dead space 1 and The Evil Within
  5. The witcher engine is severely limited in comparison to beth's engine item placement world wide is held in beth games, witcher really doesn't have any item interaction in world
  6. Purchased a Sapphire Fury Nitro this week upon receiving the card i threw it in, installed drivers and was blown away by the performance, but i noticed an increase in the minor artifacting i was receiving while using my GTX 760, which was some minor flicker in windows maybe occurring once every week. With the Fury i saw it every couple minutes for two days. ---After playing about an hour of the Witcher 3 at about 70c with CPU temps around 40 my screen went black and reported no video while ambient audio continued but the game had obviously frozen. ---Attempting to reboot the system resulted in one boot with no video followed by no responce from the power button but a short whine about 1/10 a second --went into diagnosing and with the Fury plugged in in any configuration(1 power lead from PSU. 2 different ones for each 8 pin, a different power lead) all i ever got was a short whine and computer not booting. ---Computer wouldn't boot until unplugged for a short time, maybe 2 minutes. Sounds to me like OCP in the PSU, which doesn't make sense as it is a 700w coolermaster with 696 on the +12v ---760 and other GPUs operate normally. 3570k z77 MSI GA 45 MSI 760 TwinFrozr Sapphire Nitro Fury Coolermaster V700
  7. Nintendo games are 720 60. Except for smash bros.
  8. Yeah it's not very good, 720 30 with drops, but the game is there
  9. Nvidia has a much longer history with rebranding over the last ten years
  10. Quote me on this, it is a single die 8 core CPU 2304 core gpu solution It will down clock and disable units for old PS4 games In pro games it runs the entire gpu at 911mhz Also tying physics / simulation to framerate makes a lot of sense on console only titles, makes debugging easier as the game will always respond the same. And there isn't really a downside "the new console has a second, identical GPU configured next to the original, with a 14 percent boost in frequency to 911MHz" read it like 1 The new console has a second identical gpu configuration 2 The new console has a 14% MHz bump to 911 They aren't saying the gpu runs at different speeds
  11. In pro mode the full gpu runs at higher clock In base mode half the gpu is disabled and the clock is lowered
  12. RDR was a mess on the code side, it barely got finished, they probably don't want to look at it again. It's coming to PS NOW which will be playable on PC
  13. i mean DICE has a fantastic track record on current gen consoles On Launch More Recently This is the first current gen game from DICE with a dynamic resolution, they used 1600x900 on PS4 and 1280x720 on Xbox One until this game
  14. It's not multi GPU its just someone simplifying the doubling of resources by calling it a second GPU It's a die shrink and double the GPU power on a single die.
  15. By core count alone compared to 1060, assuming it isn't at much lower clocks as it most likely is it would be around 650 non ti performance or 7770 Even The Xbox One is quite a bit faster than that in games.
  16. It's "At Least 1080p" for one thing but the other thing is the common angle sony is taking is checkerboard rendering with two offset 1080p frames, so its effectively half of 4k but a still image will be 3840x2160. the original PS4 runs 99% of titles at 1920x1080,
  17. So what it actually does, since many seem to be misinformed, is take the head tracking data from between two frames and apply it to the same first frame at 120hz Like (new frame) 8ms(head tracking applied to the previous frame) 8ms (new frame) repeat 60 game frames per second, but 120 head movement frames per second
  18. Lots of games use the older type of hdr on consoles, the big deal here is support for the larger color space on brand new 4k tvs it's the hdr that's part of the uhd Blu-ray standard. It's part of the hdmi 2.0 spec
  19. Previously HDR referred to rendering a game in a larger color space and then clamping it on output so if the scene was mainly bright with a few dark spots it raises the black value, if it's mostly a black scene it lowers the bright point. Modern HDR is an increase in color space on the TV and unclamped color rendering Will edit with better explanation later
  20. Yeah everything Xbox after revision 3 or 4 iirc isn't affected by the mobo warping and chip deseating that ravaged the first couple The slims and further are basically bulletproof
  21. That's absolutely not true, the Xbox failure rate was several times higher. https://consumerist.com/2009/08/17/xbox-360-failure-rate-is-542-percent-game-informer-finds/ The PS3 was issue prone due to higher TDP, but I never experienced a failure in a PS3 outside a PSU after 5 years of use, no one I knew had one die I had 11 Xbox 360s die, most within 30 days 3 different models. The latest 2 have lasted 4 years since. And I had maybe 2 people I knew that didn't have failures. Not to say my rural area is a cross section of all production, but it's really naive to say they were about on par After 2010/11 they are both rock solid probably equal.
  22. When YouTube is a money bleeding venture as it is that would collapse without Googles backing there isn't really a chance of a competitor arising
  23. My big problem with it is it has a hand full of Good stuff but it's full of shovel ware and was hung out to dry for its first two years and Nintendo still over prices it. They better learn with their next hardware release. Nintendo games aren't my big thing but I want star fox
  24. The only ground I'll give you on that is if I'm trying to push for people to know more I shouldn't be sarcastic The facts here are the vast vast vast majority of PS4 games are 1080p. The WIi u as far as I'm aware has 2 1080p 60 games and I'd assume it's less than 5, the ps4 has at least 30 and then more at 900 60. Nothing against Nintendo and Mario Kart 8 Bayonetta and most other first party non Zelda games being 720 60 is impressive for the hardware
