  1. I miss the day of things being the Cadillac of things. Ot.i would hope it supports consumer/narrow useful 4k because 4096 seems like a checklist item that isn't really relevant

  3. most 1600x900 TVs will accept a 1080p image, most 720(768) TVs too
  4. well if you chose 720p the PS4 will downscale to 720 and then the TV will have to upscale to 1080 which will need a lot of unnecessary interpolation. To go from 1080 down to 900 will just be downscaling, which won't hurt the image as much
  5. some of the biggest games out there are on unreal though? its the biggest game engine out there Arkham, All the new fighting games, the bioshock games, Borderlands, bulletstorm, chivalry, Dishonoured, Deus Ex, all the splinter cell games
  6. Of course it's only a risk of hacking or not my president when the libs lose
  7. eh doom runs at 60FPS on console. The console will always run like crap, that's how it's designed to run. It's designed to take as much of your money as possible, for as little in return as possible. Seems like a weird conspiracy theory, the PC market does the same thing, PC players are on the same treadmill just different names, at least on the console space there is guaranteed compatibility.
  8. consoles don't vary clocks based on temp
  9. Fallout 4 hasn't been cheap enough for me to buy. But DOOM is my game of the year
  10. Okay play dead space 1 and The Evil Within
  11. The witcher engine is severely limited in comparison to beth's engine item placement world wide is held in beth games, witcher really doesn't have any item interaction in world
  12. Purchased a Sapphire Fury Nitro this week upon receiving the card i threw it in, installed drivers and was blown away by the performance, but i noticed an increase in the minor artifacting i was receiving while using my GTX 760, which was some minor flicker in windows maybe occurring once every week. With the Fury i saw it every couple minutes for two days. ---After playing about an hour of the Witcher 3 at about 70c with CPU temps around 40 my screen went black and reported no video while ambient audio continued but the game had obviously frozen. ---Attempting to reboot the system resulted in one boot with no video followed by no responce from the power button but a short whine about 1/10 a second --went into diagnosing and with the Fury plugged in in any configuration(1 power lead from PSU. 2 different ones for each 8 pin, a different power lead) all i ever got was a short whine and computer not booting. ---Computer wouldn't boot until unplugged for a short time, maybe 2 minutes. Sounds to me like OCP in the PSU, which doesn't make sense as it is a 700w coolermaster with 696 on the +12v ---760 and other GPUs operate normally. 3570k z77 MSI GA 45 MSI 760 TwinFrozr Sapphire Nitro Fury Coolermaster V700
  13. Nintendo games are 720 60. Except for smash bros.
  14. Yeah it's not very good, 720 30 with drops, but the game is there
  15. Nvidia has a much longer history with rebranding over the last ten years
  16. Quote me on this, it is a single die 8 core CPU 2304 core gpu solution It will down clock and disable units for old PS4 games In pro games it runs the entire gpu at 911mhz Also tying physics / simulation to framerate makes a lot of sense on console only titles, makes debugging easier as the game will always respond the same. And there isn't really a downside "the new console has a second, identical GPU configured next to the original, with a 14 percent boost in frequency to 911MHz" read it like 1 The new console has a second identical gpu configuration 2 The new console has a 14% MHz bump to 911 They aren't saying the gpu runs at different speeds
  17. In pro mode the full gpu runs at higher clock In base mode half the gpu is disabled and the clock is lowered
  18. RDR was a mess on the code side, it barely got finished, they probably don't want to look at it again. It's coming to PS NOW which will be playable on PC
  19. i mean DICE has a fantastic track record on current gen consoles On Launch More Recently This is the first current gen game from DICE with a dynamic resolution, they used 1600x900 on PS4 and 1280x720 on Xbox One until this game
  20. It's not multi GPU its just someone simplifying the doubling of resources by calling it a second GPU It's a die shrink and double the GPU power on a single die.
  21. By core count alone compared to 1060, assuming it isn't at much lower clocks as it most likely is it would be around 650 non ti performance or 7770 Even The Xbox One is quite a bit faster than that in games.
  22. It's "At Least 1080p" for one thing but the other thing is the common angle sony is taking is checkerboard rendering with two offset 1080p frames, so its effectively half of 4k but a still image will be 3840x2160. the original PS4 runs 99% of titles at 1920x1080,
  23. So what it actually does, since many seem to be misinformed, is take the head tracking data from between two frames and apply it to the same first frame at 120hz Like (new frame) 8ms(head tracking applied to the previous frame) 8ms (new frame) repeat 60 game frames per second, but 120 head movement frames per second
