  1. I've adjusted the 5ghz channel to the 48 just to test. Transfer speeds and connection speeds seem a bit more stable but sill maxing out around 46Mbps. Also, the speed is both in send and receive regardless of transfer medium SSD, HDD ect
  2. Did you put in the motherboard standoffs? Had a friend years ago that killed 3k in hardware doing that and it made a crazy electrical hum when you powered it on
  3. I've got a strange issue accessing local files on my network. Connection to the internet and between wired devices is fine. My laptop with an Intel AC 8265 pulls the full 70Mbps download speed from the router but when transferring from a wired desktop with a new sata Ssd and the laptop with an nvme Ssd it maxes out around 40Mbps. The speed in windows wifi status fluxuates somewhere between 900-600Mbps and I about 10ft from the router with no walls. 2.4ghz band sees transfer speeds in the high 30Mbps on a 144Mbps connection to the router. There's nearly no other wireless networks close enough to be a problem and I've already picked a channel that is pretty much barren. The router is an Asus AC-3100. Router firmware fully updated. All wired and wireless adapters have the most updated drivers available. Transfers between wired desktops even to a mechanical drive are 112MBps+ so I'm getting the full Gbit speeds on wired. However the laptop has only type c and I dont have an adapter to test wired connection and I'm really not wanting to run cat6 all over the house any more than I already do. Anyone expericed this and have a fix? I'm guessing there is a setting on the router or deep in the network adapter settings that I am missing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  4. Didn't even know these existed for less than $50k. This is the way projectors should all be! Why have to ceiling mount a projector or have to find a large space for a standard projector when you can do the same thing with no mount and less than a foot from the wall? I would love to have one of these. Still rocking the cheapest dynex lcd 40" i could buy: my first TV from 8 years ago. This would be an amazing upgrade, just need to set up some better curtains. Good luck to everyone!
  5. I have been following Linus Tech Tips since the the early days. I'd been looking at building a new system for a long time but could never decide what hardware was best for the dollar. All of the other sites had synthetic benches and none of them really gave me a good idea of what I could expect. Linus Tech Tips has, since then, been the trusted resource I go to for tech news and hardware review. You guys keep the subject matter fun and interesting while still giving your viewers the information they need. It's been awesome watching this forum and channel grow and I'm excited to see what the future holds for Linus Tech Tips.
  6. I have to say the screen and the red backlight are my favorite features. My old Alienware m17x is just so bulky, no battery life, dark TN panel. This has all the features to fix those things, albeit a smaller screen but increased portability. Sucks that Highlander wasn't open to the public. I live not too far away from Leadville , would have been great to LAN at the summit of Mt. Elbert.
  7. Must get new processor and mobo!!! You guys tired of counting all of the entries?
