  1. Just get some RGB strips and you can decide whenever you want!
  2. This is just a YouTube optimization thing. My laptop that has an i7 5500U and 8 GB Ram does the same thing, and my PC with an i7 5820k and a GTX 980 does it sometimes too...
  3. It ended up being the noise management settings in Dell Power Command.
  4. I am not seeing a graph in the performance monitor, but the maximum frequency of my cpu is 1398 on HWMonitor. I called dell and the customer service guy said that I would need to return it for a new one, but he did absolutely nothing else, just went straight to saying that. I hope that isn't the case
  5. My temps using a python environment, google chrome, HWMonitor, word, and Powerpoint are around 45 - 50 C. In Hearthstone, it is around 65 - 70 C. I don't think that cooling is the issue.
  6. my temps using a python environment, google chrome, HWMonitor, word, and Powerpoint are around 45 - 50 C. In Hearthstone, it is around 65 - 70 C. I thought it may have been the energy saving features, but even in performance mode in the power settings, it won't clock any higher than it will in the balanced mode.
  7. Hi! I have a Dell XPS 13 9343 with an i7 5500U, 8 GB of RAM, and the 1800p display. I have been noticing that for the past month, about the amount of time that I have had it, that it has been running slower than I had expected. I thought that it was just myself overhyping it. However, today, I had to use a 4 year old Macbook Pro at school, and it was running faster and smoother than my brand new $1700 laptop. I did some snooping, AKA opening HWMonitor, and I saw that my clock speed was only MHz while at idle. I opened up chrome, and it went to 1 GHz, and no matter what I do, run benchmarks, play games, it won't go over 1.298 GHz. The base clock speed of this CPU should be 2.5 GHz, and the boost is up to 3.0 GHz, so I don't know what the problem is. I am just asking the community before I call Dell, just to see if there is a quick and easy fix to this. If not, then I have to deal with customer service. Thanks in advance!
  8. The default comm device is Intel Smart Sound Technology.
  9. The webcam works fine. It's just the microphone.
  10. I uninstalled nearly all of it. I still use the dell command power manager though.
  11. Hi! I have a Dell XPS 13 2015 edition with the infinity display and the i7 processor. I am fairly sure that there is a microphone build in to the laptop, but neither the microphone setup in windows or any other apps can access it. It is kind of annoying because it makes it so I can't utilize Cortana or make any video chats without my headphones plugged in. Can anybody help? Thanks!
  12. Haha. Do the DT990s get that loud.
  13. So should I not get a DAC/AMP or should I get the fiio ek10?
  14. I like loud music. I want to be able to blast music and my motherboard cannot drive 250 ohms
  15. Hi! I am going to buy the 250 ohm version of the Beyerdynamic DT990 Premiums. I know that the built in sound on my Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard won't be able to use the headphones to their fullest extent, so I need a DAC/AMP combo that can run them. I am willing to spend a maximum of around $200-250 USD, so anything in that price range is fine, but lower is even better. Thanks for your help!
