SalAmico's Achievements

  1. GTX 760 that I found in a recycle bin ;P it's got a blower style fan which gets insanely loud.
  2. Hello, I am fairly new to PC building and am trying to develop good habits when building. I've read that when assembling a computer for the first time you should hook everything up outside of the case first to make sure it works before you spend all the effort to put it inside the case. What is the minimum amount of components that you need in order for the BIOS to show up? Currently I've only installed the powersupply, cpu, cpu cooler, and ram (PC has onboard graphics.) My parts are a i7 6700k, be quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 cpu cooler, 4 x 8gb sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3400, Seasonic 1000W Platinum power supply, and Asus Z170-DELUXE. I have all these hooked up and when I short the power pins with a screwdriver all the lights come on on the motherboard, the CPU fan spins(then stops), the power supply fan spins(then stops), and then nothing. I am plugging into the HDMI on the motherboard and have a keyboard and mouse wired in. Thanks for any input, Sal
  3. I'm attempting to decide between the Corsair RM1000x or RM1000i. From what I can tell they are exactly the same except that the i version comes with Corsair Link. Does anyone know if their are any other differences? If their is no other difference then the software does anyone have experience with Corsair Link and is it even useful/worth it? Thanks for any input, Sal
  4. @GreezyJeezy Currently running a GeForce GTX760 that I pulled out of the trash that i've determined was from a LENOVO prebuilt computer! (Trashyard wars xD) With a AMD Phenom X4 9750.
  5. Thanks guys! After a lot of googling I found it was a GeForce GTX760 but it was from a LENOVO prebuilt so their wasn't explicitly stated what card it was.
  6. I was wondering If their was a way to look up NVIDIA graphics cards or visually know what model they are. I just found a graphics card in an extra parts pile that I couldn't tell the model visually and was not sure if their was a standard way to do this. I'm aware I could plug it in and identify it but I was just wondering if theirs key things to look for to do it by sight or perhaps some sort of serial number look up online. Thanks in advance! Sal
  7. This component would be perfect in the PC I'm getting ready to build! I've been saving up money to build my second PC but it always seems like theirs a new part I want that costs more money
