  1. I wasn't necessarily looking at buying either one, I just saw them and was like what the heck is going on here? I thought I was losing my mind because i couldn't rationalize 90 dollars just for a coiled cable. But now that people are chiming in, it seems that the headphones aren't that good anyway.
  2. So I was scouting around newegg looking at various prices for things and I came across this conundrum. It looks like they are the exact same model of headphones, but one has a straight cable and one has a coiled cable. Is a coiled cable really worth $90? Or am I a complete doofus and missing something? 3. Yeah I did that. Chatted with an Asus service rep. He recommended that I replace the PSU and if the problem still persists to replace the motherboard. He said it's either a PSU supplying the incorrect amount of juice or something wrong with the motherboard not being able to trip the power supply into turning off.
  4. yes, if i do that the antec case fan keeps spinning and the cpu fan keeps spinning. the other two fans no longer spin.
  5. CPU fan(Stock i5 fan)->CPU Opt on Mobo continues to run 200mm Case fan->fan controller->CPU fan on Mobo doesn't run 120mm Case fan->fan controller->CPU fan on Mobo doesn't run 120mm(Antec LED) Case fan->fan controller and Molex to PSU-> CPU fan on Mobo continues to run and use LED As far as how long they continue to run, I haven't actually seen them stop spinning. The first day I noticed the problem, I woke up and the fans were spinning from when I thought I had shut the computer down the night before so roughly 7-8 hours. Here's something else, I unplugged the Antec fan to see if it was causing some kind of residual power issue, and booted the PC up and shut it down again and now all the fans are spinning and it seems like they are spinning at a much higher RPM than what I have them configured for. Starting to think it could be the MOBO and not the PSU.
  6. The CPU fan spins as well as the Antec LED 120mm case fan. The crazy thing is I have all the case fans routed through the fan controller Phanteks provided and the Antec one is the only that continues to spin. Granted it has its own Molex connector that the other fans don't have.
  7. So I just completed a my first build and after about three days of using the computer I noticed that the CPU fan and one of the case fans that had an LED on it were still running after shutting down. The Power LED is also still running after shutdown. I've checked connections and doing a bios update and nothing seems to fix the issue. I unplugged the computer and left it unplugged over night to see there was some extra juice in the system but no dice. My system specs are as follows: i5 4690k @3.5Ghz (No overclock) ASUS Z87-A Motherboard Corsair CX430M PSU G. Skill 8GB(2x4GB) Ripjaw X Series DDR3 1600 MHz 512 GB Seagate HDD Phanteks Enthoo Pro Running Windows 10 technical preview. I'm really frustrated at this point and wondering if it's my PSU. Any help would be really appreciated.
  8. My friend cracked the screen, then said he was having overheating problems, so he took off the bottom of the laptop and in the process severed a few wires. Not really sure how he accomplished this but it is what it is. I tried replacing what I could but I'm not one to fool around with laptops too much. My hands are little to big for the confined space. Ultimately I think the cpu just got too hot because he had a bad habit of leaving it on on a carpeted floor and the vent was full of dust and hair.
  9. "Sockets G1 and G2 have the same number of pin holes, but they are not compatible with each other due to different position of one pin hole." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! ONE HOLE!! Thanks for the link to the info.
  10. Well dang. Is there any way to convert the blu-ray into an external device? The HDD is 500GB so once I gain access to it and pull anything I need, I'll probably convert to a media storage device. The problem I was running into with the motherboard for the cpu was that it seems everyone sells G2 or PGA 988b sockets and i can't find any info regarding whether it is still compatible or not.
  11. So I had a pretty nice laptop that I bought a few years back but unfortunately after lending it to a friend it became a nice door stopper. I took it apart just to satisfy my curiosity and found a few nice things. Namely, an i7 840QM cpu which i found out was a pretty decent cpu back in the day. Also pulled out a blu-ray reader/writer and two sticks of mushkin 4gb ram. Now, is there any way that I could possibly reuse this equipment? Or should I just throw it all away? I was trying to see if there was a way of putting together a decent mini ITX build with it, but I'm coming up with little to no results. Any help would surely be appreciated.
  12. Discovered LTT while trying to figure out the first steps in building a PC. Needless to say I got more than I bargained for. Here's to hoping for ten million subscribers soon!
