    Best IEM ~$50

Etymotic kids safe listening IEMs are a good bet. Etymotic is pretty well recognized as the leader of passive noise isolation in IEMs while still delivering an extremely balanced and neutral sound without over emphasis on highs, mids, or lows. Because they're cheaper they obviously won't be quite as good as their $200+ counterparts, but they are still held to Etymotic's rigorous testing and standards with extreme noise isolation and sturdy construction. It's worth noting that while their sound signature is extremely balanced and neutral, some people complain that it is too flat and lacks life or warmth. If you like a lot of bass or don't care about an extremely accurate sound they might be a little disappointing. Accuracy isn't always synonymous with good, and a lot of people prefer a warmer, more pleasurable listening experience even if its not quite how it was originally recorded. Ultimately let your personal preferences guide you. http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-EREK-5-BLACK-Safe-Listening-Headset-/dp/B005TOV0OM/ If you want a little more bass the RHA MA350s are pretty highly recommended in the entry level IEM market for something with extremely sturdy construction and an impactful bass. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053R0WWG/
  3. You can definitely EQ the settings, but having optimised headphones is preferable.
  4. You either sack up and tell him to leave, passively aggressively switch locations without telling him, or deal with it. I honestly don't know why he would want to sit with you guys anyways because you're coming off as very pretentious.
  5. I'll make a counter point to Steelseries Siberia V2. I owned them for about 2 years and while they had decent sound quality it was nothing to write home about and the mic was frankly just terrible. From day one the audio was at best mediocre and eventually it started cutting in and out before dying completely. My buddy ordered one about the same time mine died and his had the exact same problem. Is there any particular reason that the ATH M40x and a modmic 4.0 would not work? The M40x will be more than adequate for your sound needs and the biggest difference between the M40 and M50 is that the M50 has slightly more pronounced bass which is actually a drawback for you because you want gunshot and footstep clarity. All in all it should come in at just about $150 and the sound quality will be at least on par if not better than any "gaming headset" in that price range. On top of that the modmic is in my opinion the best headset style mic available before you jump into the $250+ range for headsets. Edit: Nevermind, I just saw your price range. The HyperX cloud might be one of the better options in your price range as long as you understand that it does have noticeable emphasis on bass.
  6. I think LEDs on my computer hardware in general looks kinda tacky. Doubly so on the case.
  7. Bioshock series is definitely up there for me.
  8. Ranked by the games that I have had the most fun playing. Most of them are the games I was always playing with friends, I think there are only 2 mainly single player games on the list. 1. Runescape 2. Pokemon Sapphire 3. COD 4 4. Mario Kart (various) 5. Super Smash Bros melee 6. COD MW3 7. Skyrim 8. Borderlands 2 9. Super Mario Bros 10. Civ 5/AoE III/Rise of Nations
  9. I bought the game but haven't really played at all since I got it (extenuating circumstances). I'd love to get into it with some people. When I get home I'll fire it back up.
  10. I'm on salary for about $1400 a month after taxes, but all my living expenses (including food) is already paid for.
  11. I'd love one if you still have any.
  12. Go see a dermatologist, everyone else here is just taking shots in the dark. There's a reason there is a whole medical speciality dedicated to just skin. Just because someone had something similar, and they think that doing X worked for them doesn't mean it will work for whatever your problem happens to be.
  13. You can't objectively say one phone is better than another. It all depends on what a user subjectively wants from a phone. Apple has Google and Microsoft beaten pretty badly when it comes to intregration into their product ecosystem, they might not have all the openness Android but not every user needs or event wants that. Personally I'm very happy with my iPhone 5s. I switched to it from the Nexus 4 after I got fed up with the poor battery life on the Nexus4. It does everything I want my phone to do and seemlessly integrates into the rest of the ecosystem. I much prefer Apple's UI and aesthetic, and honestly I don't need to mod and tweak my phone. If your phone is also your hobby then an Adroid is probably a much better choice (though the JB scene can also be a lot of fun), but if you just need a phone that works pick something that appeals to your personal preference and price range, Apple or Android.
  14. That's my point. With current technology there will always be some level of interference for wireless headphones, especially with the amount of conflicting wireless signals out there today. You will get a much "cleaner" signal on wired headphones. This will probably only matter to a very small group of people, but it's still a factor.
