Nick765 got a reaction from Ben17 in New PC Making Buzzing Noise In Games
I upgraded my PC for the first time in 7 years and just built it yesterday. Here's the part list:
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X AIO: Corsair H100i RGB Platinum 240mm AIO RAM: Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3600 MHz SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB MOBO: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi GPU: Asus Geforce RTX 2080 Super PSU: EVGA Supernova G3 850 W PSU The issue I'm having is that when I run a game there's an audible buzzing sound coming from the case. It's only present when a game is in focus - even having the game running and just opening the Start menu causes the buzzing to stop immediately. It's not loud but it's very noticeable and seems to be directly tied to having a game in focus.

I can rule out the fans on the video card and the fan on the mobo. When switching focus back to a game, the buzzing sound will start before the fans start spinning. My suspicion is that it's the AIO pump.

I downloaded the latest NVIDIA drivers and mobo drivers. iCUE is running the latest version, and from within it, I can verify the AIO and RAM are running the latest firmware. I enabled XMP in the BIOS and ensured that all of my fans were recognized.

    Any thoughts?

I did some research after I saw your replies; I think you're right and we can attribute the noise to coil whine. Thanks for the help guys!
