When you feel bad as you watch poor souls being up-sold expensive insurance plans, and antivirus protection at the checkout of bestbuy wile overhearing an employee struggle to explain the difference between a pc and a mac wile trying to justify the price of said mac, as I myself am fending off employee after employee wile trying to help a family member pick out a new laptop. <_<  no store has made me want to rip my hair out more than bestbuy.

Something that you need to remember. The system needs to be easy and fast to service. That is why Dell / Alienware does this. Everything is optimized and calculated for easy assembly, and easy servicing when either you send your system to Dell, or you have the technician coming at your place. The downside of this is what you see. It doesn't look super professional. Another thing, depending on the manufacture, they might do things tend to be colored for visibility (all so that the technician or assembler doesn't need to search to put something), so it might look ugly at the inside.

I feel there pretty expensive buying them straight from dell for what you get.
That saying I bought my setup off of a friend about half a year ago for 500.
Nowback in 2009 he paid about 2800$ brand new.
 
What I don't understand for the life of me is why they still use this fucking spinal cord POS excuse for cable MGMT.
In fact there cable management (for lack there of) in general is complete shit out of the box and its just ridiculous where the MIO board is. 
 

 
Granted this was back in 09 I can let it slide but they STILL to this day do it this way. And it is possible to get behind the mother board tray.
 

 
not there's a cut out back there or anything, not to mention lack of any cable cutouts.
But you could also clean alot of this up with a fully modular PSU or just mod the hell out of the internals, or both :lol:
But in the end, shes still sittin pretty on my desk  B)
