They're just overpriced and i don't see anything about their products that would be worth the extra money. They're also quite arrogant, but they have always been.

I would do a fresh install, cloning isn't worth it simply because of all the junk they have installed on these laptops. After installing Windows you need to install all the drivers, which can found on the manufacturer's site.

That may just be the truth. I don't get why at this point, because we have smartphones that can do a lot of the given tasks already. Do we really need to innovate fridges?

This is going like I expected, the smartphone market blew up and went sky high in a couple of years and now the blast is over. Demand lowers because 'upgrading' is hardly a thing now, if you have a decent phone from the last 2 years you still wouldn't find a massive upgrade for it today.

I got my hands on a Dell AT101W with the Alps Black switches. Bought it for €10 from a thrift shop, a shopkeeper there saw me diving through the membrane keyboards and must have noticed how I checked the click on each keyboard. He came up to me and talked about how he kept the mechanical keyboards seperate and that they usually go to the workers of the shop. I asked him if he was willing to part with any of his mechanical keyboards and he showed up later with this beauty. So this will be my project for the holidays,I want to clean it and use it as a daily driver, having it replace my €140 Corsair K70.

So I'm gonna get my hands on some used 290x's for cheap and I know my motherboard and power supply aren't up to the task of holding two of these things. I don't need help finding a power supply considering there is very little actual choice in this market, but motherboards easily get me confused with all the options out there.
 
What I'm looking for is an lga1150 board that doesn't need to have anything made for overclocking, considering I have a locked chip and have no need for swapping it out. All it really needs is crossfire support, I got confused on this because official crossfire support isn't needed apparently, as far as I've understood (don't take my word for this). A second thing which would be nice, but definitely not necessary, is some good onboard audio. I don't need the absolute cheapest board out there, I sure don't mind paying extra for some quality. I don't need a fancy motherboard either, less is more, I won't be able to look at it all the time anyway as I have solid side panels.
 
Budget is 150 euro and I live in the Netherlands. No problem if it's over budget, just don't make it too extreme.
 
Edit: One last thing. It would be nice if the PCI-E slots for the cards are very distant from each other. These are air cooled 290x's after all.

What is the next thing to spy on me? My toothbrush?
 
No surprise here honestly. We know viruses can crawl into the uefi and biois, wasn't there some virus for OSX that did this?

Solution: reflash bios at boot like I do >.>

I once tried to talk someone out of buying a gaming headset, guy basically ignored all my points and still thinks he made the right choice with seriously no argument. Another guy made the argument that the gaming headset he wanted was good quality, because he went through 3 of them (and they all broke).

I have always been interested in what the world would look like if Nazi Germany had won. Wolfenstein gave an interesting look at that, but it never really told much. Wolfenstein is banned in a lot of places though, so I understand why companies don't want to push out stories like this.

Bottom fans are useless though, I tried one and it did absolutely nothing for improving my temperatures. I haven't bothered to take it out yet, I just disconnected it.

I can do a bit of testing later tonight if you want, but when I played it back in August I was able to maintain 60fps with the occasional drop/stutter (not enough to even bother me). The settings I ended up on to make that happen (iirc) was pretty much everything maxed out with only 2 of the gameworks effects enabled, and 2xAA.

A) Never pre-order
B ) My internet is fast enough to not bother
C) Can still find out if its horrible broken on release before my purchase (port reports/early reviews)
 
If there are issues I will just delay my purchase, why should I give them money BEFORE the game comes out, like Arkham Knight, I had the money there ready to buy it day one, found out there were issues, held off my purchase

Isn't their market share in processors a lot worse? A lot needs to change for AMD next year, but I think they'll make it.
