  1. Hi all, I need some help with setting up the wireless network in my house. For many years now we have used a stock cisco router provided by our ISP, UPC(I live in Ireland). We have always had trouble connecting multiple devices to this router and also connecting in many places in the house. My house is reasonably large but old and as a result there is a lot of crap in the way (like large steel beams) and block the signal. We have tried everything but changing the router including using homeplugs, which were AWFUL for some reason, and a wireless extender. I've been led to believe many things about what a new router can actually do. I was told it wouldn't make a difference in range and that it would only improve the connection speed so to speak, at the max range of the router I already had. It's really confusing and at this point feels like a bunch of black magic. Can anyone help me out? What is it I need to do so I can get a good, stable connection in my room far from my router (through walls etc) to game on with my pc, while everyone in the house can still stream media etc. The current wireless extender I'm using drops all the time and I'm tired of it. Thanks in advance for any help.

  3. I apologise. I'm looking to drop about €400-450 on all of the parts. I do not need a gpu, ram or peripherals as stated in the original post. I've seen the cooler master cases before, and was kind of looking for something a bit smaller, that I could fit into my empty backpack if I needed to for instance. Such as a HTPC case. I have heard a lot about the g3258, but I'm wondering about the idea of overclocking it to 4.4 Ghz or so in such a small case? Is that an ok idea?
  4. Hi all, I'm building something small to bring over and back with me from my home country to where I live now for college. I saw the Silverstone Raven rvz01 and the cubitek mini cube (on the channels titan build), and I love the idea of a console sized pc. Being able to pack a full desktop in a backpack and wheel it around seems awesome, and this crummy laptop drives me mad when trying to run modern games! I'd like to try and keep that costs down, as I am a student living on a budget overseas. I already have a monitor, peripherals, 8gb of ram and a gtx 760. I was thinking about the i5 4460 initially, although it is quite expensive and the pentium g3258k seems like it's worth a shot. I'd love this to be able to run wargame red dragon, cs:go, far cry 3, battlefield 4 and evolve flawlessly at high settings with a bit of anti aliasing thrown in there! So what should I do? How do I proceed with this? Thanks in advance for all your help. Cheers.
  5. I don't have a particular preference really. I have thought about small form factor because if I need to bring it home I figured an mITX build I could take on the plane with me. But realistically I could just send it home by mail. Not a big deal.
  6. Hi all, first time posting here but here goes! I just moved to the Netherlands for college. I intend to stay here for 3 years and so I want to build a decent gaming pc, for 650-700 euro, including the monitor. I already have an OS sorted. As regards form factor I was thinking something small might be cool to build, as my last build was a full size atx desktop. I'm open to suggestions, comments etc one the form factor, for example I think building atx is cheaper than mitx? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway as regards what I'd like this thing to be able to do, I play a lot of fps games, so I'd like to be able to run things like battlefield 4 on high at 40-50 fps(more the better obviously), as well as upcoming titles like Hardline and Evolve. So what do you guys think? What should I do here? Thanks in advance for comments, advice, suggestions etc. Please let me know if I've left anything out, I'll fix it right away. Cheers, Lorcan.
  7. I initially found LinusTechTips when I was desperately looking for computer build guides because my dad said that building a pc was way too hard and a waste of time. Most of the content I found varied in quality, but when I came across the build guides on the channel it was a godsend. Professional camera work, adequate lighting, someone who sounds like they genuinely know what the fudge they're doing, all of these things induce comfort and make the process seem like a walk in the park. From then on I picked my parts based on build guides and reviews and now I have built my own desktop and I've never been happier with a pc. Needless to say my dad also ate his words. Empowerment is a great thing, so thank you. I'd love to see a video on homeplugs/ac passthroughs and what the story is with them, how to improve a setup etc. That'd be awesome! Please keep the content coming. And throw me in that giveaway too, if you don't mind
