  1. Yeah he has lots of cards he just took a hit on this card hoping it could be something easy! He is only £40 out of pocket so not the end of the world
  2. Ahh cheers mate, so u reckon its done for then? I am thinking the old owner bricked it some how he said he was "Just overclocking it a bit"
  3. Long time no see chaps, Looking for some advice! Friend of mine recently picked up a MSI 1070ti for cheap the person selling the card said occasionally it will not display a picture. Now the card will not post in my system (I get a b2 asrock BIOS code) Which is a GPU firmware issue. I tired booting with internal GPU with the card installed and I just blue screen windows with a nvlddmkm.sys error and cant get into windows. I am thinking the card may have been flashed un successfully by the last owner or he wound the voltage up to high in a BIOS flash! The card has no signs of extreme heat at all and stays warm when running. Anyone know of a way to flash the VBIOS on the card via a bootable USB I can do with it plugged into IGPU? It is picked up in mu bios so the card is not a complete lost hope! Cheers dudes
  4. I would recommend using PC Part Picker to put together a list it can help beginners as it shows price and if everything is compatible! And makes it easier to read for us ?

I do think that any attempt to game on it will be a waste of money! And It doesn't matter what GPU u get even if u get a Titan its still always going to be limited by that CPU and the RAM! just wait till you get your new PC man
  6. Having owned this laptop it is definatley not user serviceable, unless you are very experienced! I would not suggest attempting any repair yourself and contact Asus or your retailer. There is a reason parts are not easy to get / dont have pics ?

It will run them yes but not sure about 40-60fps, very lowest settings in CSGO you may get 40fps at 720p

Ahhh okay that makes more sense! When you say eGPU I alway think laptops ?! Any I think that Ansuex is being a little hopeful with the 1080p 60fps, maybe in CSGO if you are very very lucky but as I say the RAM and CPU combo is going to really restrict you in this case to at max 720p 40fps at the lowest settings, especially with (god help me) Fortnite.

The CPU and RAM combo there is really showing its age, a GPU will improve it but those games are quite CPU intensive! Also I highly doubt that laptop has the ports / capability to support an external GPU?
  10. The eBay seller they purchased them from does not seem to sell them anymore! I have seen frosted glass plugs from maybe EK but again that was a while ago, maybe try and find a friend who could machine some for you from acrylic?
  11. I did know of someone that used some a while ago, I will try and contact them and ask if they have a URL
  12. Hi Guys! So recently got a new TV (Sony KD75-XE9405) and I have been trying to use my computer with it before I build another rig for my cinema! And I am aware of TV's having very high response time but with a 4k 60Hz signal this TV should be around 25 ms in game mode everything turned off and it feels like a lot more than that! Now its not terrible but the mouse feels very inaccurate even at 60Hz and playing games it no hope! Tried my Xbone and same issue. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated! My normal monitor is 5ms so I am just wondering if its me being insane or if it is possible to feel that drastic of a difference between 25 and 5 ms Thanks guys!
  13. I had a watercooled FX for a while and I think all FX chips use an algorithm to give a temprature sensor out reading which is only ever accurate under medium to high load mine always said I was at like 5-8c at idle until it was underload and then I saw around 45-55c which is much more realistic
  14. 55 is fine idle, FX chips dont have a onboard temprature sensor they use an algorithm to work out temprature! The load tempratures seem good which is when the algorithm is most accurate, 5GHZ for one of those chips is not bad, if u give them enough voltage u can get 5.2 out of one under water! Well at least I used to
  15. Hi, and could be a bad PCI slot! Has happened to me before try another slot if u have got them! Also try to remove and re install your CPU and RAM, good luck! Read the whole post first mate....
  16. Use a different email then bud? I have one I just use for paypal cause its also safer than using your main email for it, harder for people to reset you password if they get in your main account
  17. Gunna have to not recommend these thou, unless u get a good seal they do not work well and can be very loud! Get a decent cooling pad I got one with 4 fans which are adjustable for like £10 on amazon and it works just fine
  18. Thats completely normal... Those temps are actually very good for a laptop! My i7 MSI gaming laptop used to run at 85c on the CPU and 72c on the GPU whenever I was gaming and would idle at like 38-42.. That had a 6700HQ in it. My Asus i7 ultrabook (cant rember the chip) that I just got idles at like 35 and hits 70c on the cpu and gpu when playing like garrys mod! The cooling mats do help a lot and help keep the keyboard clean and get good airflow! I always use mine on the pad when at home or gaming!
  19. That really does look unique and pretty cool! Nice work man looks sweet
  20. Okay so it is moving some water just not enough! A CPU is under a reasonable amount of load during startup which is enough to get the water hot so if its not moving then the water temp will be high! I think ur TIM maybe fine so I would RMA the cooler first or try another one if u can get hold of one to try before u send the AIO back And yeah science of thermodynamics is cool hahah
  21. Corsair will send u and RMA anyway if there's any thought of an issue! If u contact support and show them screenshots etc... then they will sort it! I think it maybe a bad pump with temps that high
  22. Hmmmm, well my only suggestion is u may have a bad batch of paste under the CPU's heat spreader? That happened on my 4790k it used to idle at 75c on my h100i, I got a RMA and my new one is like 28c on idle on a hot day on my custom loop with a thick 240.... Try a CPU RMA and see where that gets u! One last thing the water temprature sensor for corsair AIO's is like right by the pump so if the RAD is only very slightly warm or cold then the pump may not be moving water at all! With water temps that high one tube should be cold an another hot! Personal message me if u want any other help bud Intel's sensors are built into the chip and just about the best u can get in my opinion so I would suggest that CPU temps are a good reading! especially if the water is hot as well!
  23. I dunno if this has been mentioned but I would recommend re mounting the cooler and making sure u have the washers and the screws etc.... I had to use washers on my backplate on my h100i back in the day to get it to hold tight enough for a good mount! So try a fresh clean and new paste and a re mount
  24. I have a 4790k and I love it! The z97 chipset was great and the motherboards where just straight good! I personally would go with the 4790k if you can get it at the same price which I am sure you are able to now days, after 2 years pretty much my i7 is still going strong
  25. Yeah, this is exactly what I would build for that sort of budget! Pentiums have always kicked butt in my opinion hahh!
