  1. Hello Friends, My friend has a better CPU in both number of cores and single core performance but a worse gpu. He runs MC at around 60FPS. I can't even get close to that, my game stutters and I see readings like "12FPS" often My current theory is that his good experience is due to the single core performance disparities. But it's always nice to be sure, it could also be because he has more cores than me. If someone with 12 cores would be nice enough to load up my save of the game as a torture test (fresh worlds are easy to run) that would be greatly appreciated Nitty Gritty Details: I have a GTX 780 and a 4790k My friend a GTX 760 and a 5600x, he's waiting on a RTX 3080 like the rest of us XD Some of the most popular MC modpacks (AFAIK) run on Minecraft 1.12.2, a very old java edition RLCraft + Optifine + Sildurs Vibrant Shaders Lite is what I'm specifically looking at This version of MC is so old and unoptimised that even with "FPS optimisation mods" it still runs like trash and won't even max your CPU or GPU usage regardless Opening a new world is actually playable on my system but my current world stutters like mad (link: https://mega.nz/file/109FHIzR#mWyXIFir5WuFvSfNXf311EsIC95tDpFf0JtEnfOnYeM) Coordinates of my laggy base: 3915 66 723 People generally never benchmark this stuff, the closest you'll get is a forum post or two that tells you single core performance is important without any numbers or cpu/gpu comparisons Thanks!
  2. Did I miss the part where Linus discusses how viable this is as a desktop headset replacement? I hope they do a follow up, didn't answer many questions IMO.
  3. I want to see if i can improve my smite game performance with this mouse
  4. I would use mine to run more VM's. Windows, linux and mac all have something I want.
  5. I think you meant case, not cage. If so the case supports multiple 480mm Rads with ample clearance at the top from what I can tell.
  6. I'm scared out of my wits but I have been watching Linus for over 2 years and have done a lot of research. I'm confident I could build an air cooled pc with ease, but this is going to be one heck of a challenge but one that I feel ready for. I just need people to go over my build and make sure I didn't miss any small detail that would set me back due to lack of experience.
  7. Part list Updated Parts list Aim: A near silent beast gaming machine and can be used for general heavy usage (as an all round tinkerer). Colour scheme: Black, White, Blue and anything in-between. Extra's: 2 SSD's in RAID 0 for speed, 2 RAID 1 HDD's for reliability The Rad's has a high FPI that would be considered bad for low RPM fans (which I plan on using) but it has an innovative fin design that allows a lot of airflow without needing high SP fans. Concerns: Fittings won't fit on every component Pump might have odd connectors for power/tubing.
  8. The customisation features LG added show a true understanding of their target audience (android enthusiasts) while at the same time not alienating the more common consumer.
  9. Oops the res I chose wasn't released. Here's a similar one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/phobya-balancer-150-silver-nickel

  11. Distilled water. A quick search tells me that its almost the same price to buy the Poseidon as it is to buy a block and 780 (at least in the UK as far as I can tell) even if there was a £50 delta I wouldn't mind due the the convenience. Also I was planning on unplugging the fans any ways. But my real issue is fittings and tubing I hear XX OD and XX ID + G1/4" and my mind explodes. I looked for the cheapest solution and found one of these: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/33m-(10ft)-masterkleer-1-2-id-3-4-od-hose-blue-uv-boxed and 12 of these: http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/14-Thread-Compression-Fitting-for-12-ID---34-OD-13-19mm-Tubing--Silver-pid-16194.html but I have no idea if that'll work; highly doubt it.

  13. Hi there, I'm building my first water cooling rig and I need help finding tubes and fittings. I am looking for 12 fittings and some blue tubes (any OD and ID). I would prefer not to spend over £35 on fittings. CPU block says it needs G 1/4" if that helps. Why 12 fittings: 2 for cpu block 2 for gpu block 2 for res 2 for pump 4 for 2 rads Please use these Websites to find them: http://www.specialtech.co.uk http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk http://www.candccentral.co.uk http://www.e22.biz/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/ My Build: GoalsA computer that can run most games and applications with ease at near maximum setting. It will need to be fast but quite hence the water cooling. CPUAn I5-4670k is one of the faster mid-tier CPU’s that will not hinder any powerful graphics and will also allow me to run as many intense programs as I was, even some light virtual machines and emulations shouldn’t really be a problem. The fact that it’s an unlocked CPU will go well with my water cooling plans; allowing me to overclock it a decent amount without having to worry about overheating as much. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Graphics-BX80646I74770-Generation-Technology/dp/B00CO8TBOW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403976224&sr=8-1&keywords=4670k Motherboard http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-z97s-sli-plus-intel-z97-s-1150-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-raid-pcie-30-(x16)-d-sub-dvi-hdmi-atx GPUThe GTX 780 Poseidon is a very high end NVidia graphics card that has the rare feature of being able to be either water or air cooled without modification. http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-Poseidon-Platinum-Graphics-Express/dp/B00HFMPQ3C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403982997&sr=8-1&keywords=780+poseidon RAMNothing to fancy, 16 gigs might be slightly pushing it but I have a few use cases for it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/G-Skill-16GB-Ripjaws-Channel-Memory/dp/B007CCV1TI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1403985730&sr=8-3&keywords=g+skills+16gb Water cooling Blocks http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Aquacomputer-Cuplex-Kryos-Delrin-for-Socket-13661156775-G14andquot;_4078.html RadiatorsI was thinking of getting two 480mm radiators, this is a bit much but it will allow me to run the fans at a lower rpm helping achieve that silence I was striving for. Was told I need ones with a low FPI if I was to attach low rpm fans. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/alphacool-nexxxos-st30-full-copper-480mm Tubes PumpI heard D5’s are quite silent on the lowest setting and get the job done well (recommendation from a long time water cooling enthusiast with a YouTube channel) http://www.scan.co.uk/products/alphacool-laing-vpp655-d5-pump-t12-(1-2-barbed-connectors) Reservoirhttp://www.scan.co.uk/products/phobya-balancer-150-black-nickel Silver Kill Coilhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Mayhems-99-999%25-Silver-Kill-Coil/dp/B007N75MZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404237191&sr=8-1&keywords=silver+kill+coil Compression fittings Thermal Compoundhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/INNOVATION-COOLING-IC-Diamond-Carat/dp/B007OURMAA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404238734&sr=8-1&keywords=ic+diamond CaseA nice large case that can fit all my radiators, the Phanteks Enthoo Series Primo. http://www.amazon.co.uk/PHANTEKS-Enthoo-Primo-Big-Tower-schwarz/dp/B00EB0A6FE/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1403986531&sr=1-1&keywords=PHANTEKS+Enthoo+Primo StoragePlanning on putting two SSD’s in raid 0 for performance and 2 HDD’s in raid one for security, with regular backups from the SSD’s to the HDD’s (don’t think I’ll need a raid card for all this) Power supplyCooler Master V700 has good reviews, is 80+ Gold certified and modular; what more can you ask for? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Vanguard-V700W-Supply/dp/B00CJ1UXFK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403988763&sr=8-1&keywords=coolermaster+v FansNot sure, the case comes with a controller and 5 fans.
