    Yeah I have 10 drives in my main rig. Totalling 80TB approx. Media server as well as my everyday gaming system... The new rig will act as just for redundant storage + Retro Gaming

    Id get something like a used dell h700, yes they are sas raid cards, but can be ran in jbod mode. You can also use sas expanders if you want to run more drives in the future.

    I know how that feels buddy... Been there, done that... One thing you forget, it's the time when you n I were trying to convince you know who, that Samsung ain't the ONLY Android device out there... And that Samsung does not mean Android, that Android is an OS not a phone brand lol

    I sure do but on a single PCB... I don't like the intricacies of multi-PCB setups.. Having to deal with 4x/8x/16x PCIe crap...  And as I mentioned in OP, I will not be going 4k any time soon...

    i am sure the 690 outperforms the 780 so u should be fine for another year or two
