  1. My friend : Other cards, including HBA use 8, And 4 port gigabit uses 4. Lanes that is.. Like I said he got tons of cards.. None of his cards fit an x4 slot..
  2. Thanks for all the info guys. But you all got the assumption that what he is asking for is 4 or more x16 slots he doesn't care if they are x8... Just not x4 coz all his add-in cards are long like 4 port Nic card and GPUs. For GPUs 1x16 to main 2x4k Monitors and 1 dedicated GPU for 3rd always on screen a 960 it's just so he can check what's happening on system. So doesn't matter 8f it is running in x8... It's ports he cares about coz if he upgrades now with boards lacking slots he won't be able to use all his cards. So he is stuck...
  3. Wgen the guy wants AMD he is unlucky... So bottom line stick with Intel
  4. Exactly... But no motherboards give you 5 PCie Slots we have looked high and low... Why?
  5. If there was a brand we could kill it would be Gigabyte coz we had nothing but bad experience with their products... That aside he wants AMD not Intel... So yeah wait n see I guess...
  6. Ahh... We looked... None to be found... All offer 4 ports max
  7. Well clearly there are people like my friend here who use more than 4 slots. He has 2x1080Ti 1x950 1x4Port 1G Nic 1xHBA and a 4 port 10G Nic card... He's looking for an AMD board where he can use all those and they are all full length
  8. So he might as well stick with Intel. What a shame... But can anyone shed some light as to why? And he doesn't care if it's x8 or x16 just not x4 or below
  9. Hey there... A friend of mine who uses a lot of add-in cards one day asked me a question I couldn't answer even after Googling for a while. I was wondering if anyone here can shed some light... What AMD CPU provides most number of PCie Lanes and why isn't there an AMD Chipset Mobo with more than 4 Full length PCie Slots? He currently is on Intel with a 5960x / WS mobo with 6 PCie Slots all of which are currently being used... Thanks in advance.
  10. I have 12 different Browsers in "Portable" mode I used Maxthon 6 that has no modifications for Gleam.io to load fine Damn I knew it was too good to be true... I submitted my entries for nothing ... Am not in US nor Canaduck.... Gees... Am never lucky
  11. If I answer it they might think am a cannuck. Am from Kronos a Klingon world
  12. I dunno but this part makes me think that this giveaway is for Canada only or we can skip this step if we ain't from there for therm to tell that we ain't Cannucks ?
  13. Was not mentioned anywhere so could be worldwide
  14. I was wondering is that giveaway worldwide or US/Canada only ?
  15. Well put my friend. True that with all that RT stuff 10 series will age badly, but for us who don't really care for that stuff and can get 60fps or more on 1440p it's not a must upgrade... But nevertheless I don't see myself sticking to the 1080 for more than a year... Maybe by Christmas 2021 I might jump on the 3070 train. If I find a job by then. I just quit my position at Apple Ireland due to catastrophe in Lebanon my home... Need to take care of things there...
  16. I guess will try that... Also I don't see why the hype for 3000 series nVidia GPUs... I have a 1080 and was able to play some games on Ultra @1440p 60+fps no issues... That GPU still has a few years to go...
  17. I saw a few but they scare me... Hmm... I kinda care more about tighter timings as my kit is CAS18
  18. I am already running at XMP 2.0 mode... Never OC'd RAM before... Oh well... Sadly I prefer not to sell n use that kit on one of my other systems.. Hmm... Still OC'ing RAM could be a viable option... Still dunno how to do it... Can I get timings tighter with kit I got? If so how?
  19. Hey peeps.. I come to this awesome community once again to ask the following... First here's link to my build --> here (or my sig) With that, is it necessary to upgrade my RAM to faster kit with lower timings? I heard so much that faster n lower timings makes Ryzen CPUs work less hard... Dunno how true that is. I am by no means a heavy gamer nor do I play competitively... I use my PC for occasional AAA titles at 1440p every now and then, but mostly to watch YouTube and do some photoshop and xml/css coding/design... Would love to know...
  20. Nice !!!! I just remembered that I had some more parts sitting around gathering dust : - Intel Core i7-6800K 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor - ASRock X99M Extreme4 Micro ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard - G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Would like to build around those. What do you think of this Setup ?
  21. Lol... Well, they are currently all full to the brim. Need to start getting rid of a few movies... Still I am wondering if I should go with the i5 ATX build I got laying around with 32gb DDR3 RAM or build a whole new micro ATX one with Ryzen from scratch which will take much longer as I cannot afford it right now.. That's what I got so far --> Here
  22. Yeah I have 10 drives in my main rig. Totalling 80TB approx. Media server as well as my everyday gaming system... The new rig will act as just for redundant storage + Retro Gaming
  23. I have Prime + UK address so yeah I rarely pay for shipping...
  24. Hmm.. I am starting to think you are right, for $50 won't find much... I have till end of March to decide. So will keep looking...
  25. The GD09B? It's one I was considering. Just seeing if a slimmer one can be found.
