  1. I love the color accents for one, and believe it or not I really prefer the 750gb HDD to an SSD since for the same (or lower) cost you get a lot more storage, thereby allowing it to be a much more productive and portable laptop rather than just a gaming system dependant on external storage.
  2. 2560x1440 resolution, 500+PPI, on a phone?!?! That's insane and definitely my favorite part of it!
  3. How to turn off IE: >Open start menu >Type "Windows Features" >An option will come up that says "Turn Windows features on or off" Click on it. >It will come up with a list of all the different Windows features, including Internet Explorer. >Uncheck Internet Explorer. >Press OK. It will take a minute to apply the change, but it fully disables it, even where you can't find iexplore.exe in the system32 file. You're Welcome
  4. I really like the uniform integration of the glass bezel and the metal. Even my Nexus 7 (2013) Has a little bit of a lip when you run your hands around the edge of the tablet.
  5. Customizability by far. I'm a Junior in high school, although I've been around tech for a long time and even already have a couple computer certifications (hardware and OSs). I bought an iPod touch 3g 8gb (which actually has ipod 2g hardware. You tricked me apple, good one :/ ) off of a friend a couple years ago with the intention of getting textPlus and using it as my phone since I didn't have a job and couldn't afford to pay a monthly bill. It worked awesome, served it's purpose extremely well, and I loved it. But after a few months of using it I felt there was something missing. I decided to venture into new territory and jailbreak it, and I went crazy with customizing it. I couldn't believe I hadn't done it sooner. I later got an iPhone 3G (not 3GS) and told myself I wouldn't jailbreak it so it would run faster, but I only lasted a couple days before I broke down and did it. I'm still using the same iPod today (and I'm actually typing this post on it, but I'm stuck on iOS 4.2.1 since it is an older device and I'm looking to get something newer. I love iOS, but hate apple products, so I plan on getting an android phone because the platform was basically built for customizability, and that is what sets it apart from apple products in my opinion. New jailbreaks for iOS are few and far between these days and I couldn't go without customizing my mobile device to fit my personal needs. If android drops that, then frankly it becomes dead to me.
  6. I use being cautious and smart about what I'm doing, and Microsoft Security Essentials to stop notifications telling me I don't have an antivirus and to catch any small thing that might slip by. It has yet to fail me...
  7. In my opinion it depends. The Nexus 7 is an amazing device and I am personally going to get one sometime in the near future (hopefullly) but if you're already sucked into the iOS community with purchased Apps and such (music CAN be transferred) then the iPad mini might be a better option for you. Same for Android, but if you are new to both ecosystems, then the best way to decide would be to try out both devices or similar ones yourself. Even if you can't find the exact device, it will be very similar to something such as an iphone or an android phone. Lastly, keep in mind that the iPad mini has about the same specs as the new iPod touch 5th generation and not the full fledged iPad 3 or iPhone 5. Really either device will do it's job excellently and have support for quite a long time so it really is just your preference on whether you prefer Android or iOS.
  8. My favorite is actually my HP 3105m. It's an 11.5 inch laptop with a 1366x768 display, so it looks amazing. It's not a netbook, so don't be mistaken there it is a full fledged laptop. It has a dual core AMD APU (E-350). The processor is admittedly a bit slow at 1.6ghz but the graphics perform really well so I am still able to play all but the very latest games on it with good detail. (I have the entire Assassin's Creed series on it for example) I love the size and portability of it, and per your average laptop they normally have to get a lot bigger before they get a higher resolution display so the PPI is really good. My favorite laptop ever to type on though actually was a netbook. It was an HP mini 2102 and I still have the keyboard off of one. It's a small keyboard, but I love the tactile feedback of it.
  9. To be honest I love the way that Windows Vista looks. At least as far as looking at the desktop goes that is. I love the XP taskbar a great deal more than the Windows 7 one, but I admit the Windows 7 one does look better. Vista combines the two to create an wesome looking black taskbar with the blue orb and it looks amazing. But that's also part of the problem. More time with Vista's development was spent making it look good instead of ensuring functionality. The actual code was much larger than XP because of all the new things added in, making the system requirements much much higher. WIndows 7 is almost a more streamlined version of Vista, as it functions very similar, but it has lower requirements and runs much faster. Vista is more stable now with the service packs (I have had to use it quite a bit) and it really isn't a bad OS but it's still uses the most resources of any windows operating system available so it sort of got skirted to the side. It really isn't that bad but if you are going to pay for an OS it's not the best choice. It's just the OS that people love to hate.
  10. I love Ubuntu! I actually have tried to switch over to it multiple times from Windows, but I always ended up switching back just for the comfort of using Windows since I've been using it for so long and know my way around it a lot better. I hope that putting Ubuntu on mobile devices will make it more mainstream and accessible for people to learn and use. It really is an amazing operating system, and very well polished, it just needs a larger user base to get it more supported. It's definitely a step in the right direction in my opinion, as long as there is still a normal desktop version, unlike how Windows 8 fused the two platforms.
  11. Not as old school as you guys, but an AMD E-350 APU laptop. I still have it and it actually does pretty well for a 1.6ghz dual core. The Graphics are definitely stronger than the processor though. (HP 3105m)
