Ed from Sapphire says their Nitro card will have an 8 pin connector, but you can use it with a 6 pin. So the extra 2 pins are optional for OC (I guess).

That's a six-pin, surely? The two little plugs are hanging off...

Yeah, the whole point of polaris was always touted as being the best fps per watt/per dollar budget GPU. But looking at the power draw, if I'm not mistaken, the card is as power hungry as a 1070, but performs like a 970...
 
If nvidia gets their pricing right with the 1060, AMD is really gonna have a struggle selling 480s in my mind - wich let's be real, is really not what us consumers need right now with NV already enjoying a very comfortable lead on AMD.

Hmm, I'm not sure how reliable this is. Shark-Gaming has done some very shady shit, overprice their products (they make custom PCs at a premium) and the only reason they're still in business is that they appeal to the "1337 gamer" crowd.
I can't quite remember the exact stories but I remember reading a lot of personal accounts of the antics of Shark-Gaming.
 
I wouldn't put it past them that the actual story here is that "we don't have any Strix models in stock right now (and won't get any for a while), please take this MSI card that we have in stock and stop pestering us about it".
Actually I think this has jogged my memory a bit. I seem to recall a story about a guy RMAing a card and they didn't have the exact model in stock, so they gave him a reference card and said "Here, take this, it's an equivalent card" instead of the OC triple fan model he RMA'ed. Of course, my memory is kinda wonky these days.

Also with a stock ivy bridge i7, not sure how much the cpu would effect the score with firestrike,  we could see even more gains.

I don't understand why people have to come into a thread and immediately assert their dominance over everyone else. Who cares? Just wanted to show you guys what Nvidia had come up with from a marketing standpoint because I thought it was neat, and incredibly effective.
