  1. I 2nd this, would love to see Jake connecting a Dell-EMC/Pure Storage/HPC-Nimble over fiber channel to show what a more modern SAN setup would look like and perform. Netapps are only a good to show how companies can nickel and dime you to death.
  2. As noted this is just a blade, you need the chassis it plugs into for it to be of any use. https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01036152 "The HP ProLiant BL465c Server Blade plugs vertically into the HP BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure."
  3. There are 2 main ways that I know of, using the Lifecycle controller which you will see during boot, or installing the RACADM tools from Dell. To dig into it more, I would start by heading here and reading though all the details: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN85572/en#Unique-Hyphenated-Issue-Here-2 This should apply to most modern Dell servers.
  4. This looks like an old thin client, it seems to support PCoIP( PC over IP) which means it should work with a VMware Horizon solution, and or possibly Citrix. but both are large scale enterprise VDI solution's, not something one can run on a desktop PC.
  5. Depending on the use case the cheapest pc you could possibly get away with is a Raspberry Pi 2
  6. Startech may have what your looking for, however I haven't used it yet, so i'm not sure how good or bad it is but it should work for what you need. http://ca.startech.com/Server-Management/Racks/12U-4-Post-Open-Frame-Server-Equipment-Rack-Adjustable-Posts-and-Casters~4POSTRACK12A Looks like it is available at a few resellers here in Canada. You can get bigger, but I would stick with a 12u and go from there. Looks like it will include cage nuts and bolts as well.
