  1. So went to check on my res body bc of planning something as it was sitting on my shelf on top of some other stuff for a couple months. Now it seems there is a circle of spider cracks most likely due to just laying down in the box for a while. How fragile lol. Will most likely still use it for my build as I have used another res body full of spider cracks with no worries. Just weird to see this.

New In Box Reservoir Body Developed Spider Cracks

It's just wrapped in the factory plastic bag and is inside the koolance box. I took it out one time to polish it with Meguiar's PlastX, but it don't suppose the polish would've caused any chemical damage as I've used it on many acrylic parts for PC builds and such.

70-80. Live in California so it gets pretty warm, but the shelf usually remains sorta cold to the touch.

Idk dude it stays on the shelf right there. Haven’t touched it in a while.

    i5 6500 overcocking

For all the guys saying “yOu cAnT oC” there is such a thing as bclk ocing. I think that intel limits this after some mhz. Also, it would be better to keep it at stock for lonvegity sake and try to make it turbo most of the time.

    R7 2700x or I7 8700k

https://www.anandtech.com/show/12625/amd-second-generation-ryzen-7-2700x-2700-ryzen-5-2600x-2600/18 All the games shown on here show better perf with ryzen ever since the meltdown and spectre updates. You're gonna want those updates if you go with either CPU so Ryzen seems like a better option.

    Motherboard help with Ryzen 3

Newegg should say on some mobos that it is "Ryzen 2 ready" or some shit. Look around on newegg. Don't buy a x470 board for some ryzen 3 cpu.

    1080ti CPU

I think you could get lower voltage with better VRMs. My old X370 board (6 phase) managed lower voltage at the same oc as my MSI b350 shit (4 phase). What freq are you running at?

    1080ti CPU

Why get one of the meh pro4 boards? The VRMs are anemic especially for the 8 core cpus

    1080ti CPU

Anything from a 2600k or even 2500k and up
  11. Give up clocks? During haswell the 5820k's and 4770/90k's were getting about the same clocks.
  12. I mean the 8150 gets about 800cb OC'd on cinebench whereas in my experience with a 1600 at 4ghz i got 1300 so unless upgrading to a ryzen 7 I don't think it would be worth it. Also, I love the way the 990fx Gigabyte boards look. Used to have a UD5 with a FX 6300 at 4.8ghz.

    Inwin 301 build thread

So I sold some of my shit and now I'm able to build in the case I've been wanting to for ages. Here's the parts list: Bykski CPU waterblock 12mm hardline fittings Barrow PETG Swiftech H220x EVGA GTX 780 HydroCopper Used XSPC 240mm radiator (I want to add one more rad, but I'm pretty broke rn lol) G.Skill Ripjaws V 16gb kit 2400mhz oc'd to 2666mhz Ryzen 1700 @3.9ghz at 1.3125v MSI B350m Pro-VDH I'll probably buy some random res off ebay, but when I get some money I'll get some parts for the 80mm Koolance res body I have along with a rad. Inwin 301 White 1tb WD Black 256gb Toshiba SSD 240gb Kingston SSD Thermaltake 750gb 80 plus gold PSU Mayhems Pastel White I ain't got a name or theme for this build because I think it's kinda tacky (like stance or hellaflush in car culture), but to each their own.

Update: Fixed this shit. So I knew for awhile before I actually did anything that the cpu block was upside down, but that really caused a lot of problems temp wise. I also fixed the bottom rad fans to intake. I added two more SSDs "the wrong way." The ssd in the back prevents me from screwing the back part of the hdd cage in, but at least have 3 SSDs (other one is on top). I was originally going to keep my drain port the same, but the male to male fitting kept on leaking so I kept the 5 way fitting in there so I could just pop on a drain port when I have to. I like this a lot better than before. Temps for idle are now in the 20 degrees consistently and for games and regular loads 52-63c. Highest temp for cpu was 70c with furmark and prime95 running. Still thinking about that 120mm rad in the back for the looks. Also, I would've bent the petg, but I wanted to hurry up and I didn't have much tubing left so I didn't want to fuck up and be stuck without a computer.

Is there a way to do this without using unraid? I've tried Hyper V which has great Vgpu support but no usb pass through and I've tried VMware Workstation Pro 14 which has usb and audio pass through but shitty Vgpu support. I'm on Win 10 Pro with an enterprise key. I'm thinking about going to Ubuntu or other types of Linux stuff in order to do this. Linux seems kinda cool.

    1. Download VMware Workstation pro 14 2. Install it and get a key online 3. Set it up like a regular computer 4. Install ya games and see if they work

    2 radiator idea

Alright so I was just thinking about how to cool down my build some more and I was thinking if you could first put a multiport radiator in the front, one static pressure fan in the middle, and a regular two port rad in the back and connect both rads together in order to have double the cooling capacity in one fan slot. I know that one thick radiator would be a bit simpler, but it would look cooler and I think it would act like a 240mm rad. Also, I could see the 2nd radiator getting hotter. It would basically be like the water cooling version of a dual tower heatsink. Somebody has probably already done it but you never know

Update: alright so I'm pretty much broke and the temps are alright, but I might trade two of some cpu waterblocks I'm not using for an EK 120 XE (thick ass radiator) which I'll put in the back. I have extra petg so I'm going to try to attempt to do some cool ass bends. I haven't really bent any tubing since last year , but I will try now. Also, I will try to put in two more SSDs since I put one on top of the hard drive cage (idk if anyone's ever done that before since it's not official supported) and I have a couple SSDs lying around. Here's an old pic of my build with a E5-2650 v3 ES, X99 Extreme 3, two rx 480s (one was a stock blower one), and some cheap watercooling stuff. The best and easiest petg I've ever used was nanoxia 12mm tubing and I've tried both bitspower and ek tubing (12mm).

2 Gamers, 1 CPU - Virtualized Gaming Build Log

I'm using VMware Workstation Pro 14 with a win 10 vm and fortnite/ ue4 games crash on it, csgo cannot be run, but other games like rocket league and team fortress run flawlessly. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations in order to remedy some of these problems since you work with the vmware stuff? My specs are 16gb ddr4, Ryzen 7 1700, gtx 780 and the vm has 8 threads 4 cores to it, 8gb of ram, and 1 gb of vram.

Update: It seems that on Fortnite I am having video memory problems. I don't have these problems on the host machine and I have tried 1gb and 2gb vram. It seems to be a UE4 problem as others have had this problems as well. So in conclusion, some games suck ass on VMs, but other games are great.

Alright so now in the VMware software I'm getting great FPS in Rocket League and now I'm gonna try out fortnite.

1gb. I've tried with 2gb and got the same result. Also, I am reinstalling right now to test it again since I had uninstalled this morning because Hyper V and this software don't play nice.
