  1. i have no idea why. just run it at 1.2V or more that anyway aint that much voltage... just make sure it's stable at 1.2V if it's not increase it (1.22V if the temp allow you, if needed you could go to 1.25 probably) if you manage to get 1.25V with a reasonable load temp. then just raise the freq of the cpu until it's not more stable, then go back a notch(or raise V again). you could problably get 4,6ghz out of it, if not more(maybe less). (you can give it more V too if youre temps allows it to you 1.3 for example) and keep in mind that not every chip is the same some overclock better some do worse. check this post here (maybe you'l get some more info) : http://www.overclock.net/t/1293151/h...00-with-h80/10 good luck and fell free to post any news!
  2. in this case he should try it with only one graphics card. i'd say that it's not the motherboards fault (it most likely wouldn't eaven start if it were...) check the temps! overheating protection could kick in (mostlikely this is not the problem since you can run prime95 normal) try testing it with a different PSU. (try a different motherboard too) have you cheked the latency timings for your ram? maybe sothing wrong with the onboard start button on the motherboard? check this post here maybe you find a solotion here: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?24335-Asus-Maximus-V-Formula-shutting-down
  3. Gainward 9800GTX+ with VoltMod (yes i soldered on it) planing to upgrade to a MSI 7870 hawk
  4. incase anyone else has this problem the solution is: - go to settings, options - under capture deselect Echo reduction and Echo cancelation - select advanced options - under advance options deselect Remove background noise then click apply and youre done! :)
  5. htc wildfire, i know it's old but it was the chepest one so i just bought it 2 years ago xD
  6. why not a 8350fx? it cost the same... i know i sound now probably like a amd fanboy but realy... 8 core 4ghz stock, oced to 5ghz... aint that better than a 3570k? at least for the same price? edit: the 8350fx is on some sites cheaper than a 3570...
  7. will you finance it to me? :P
  8. i'd choose msi's hi performance motherboard over all others. in mid range id go with asus ower gigabyte (asus just has a better bios) (owned 3 gigabyte motherboard, 1 asus, and 1 msi board)
  9. It's not a large issue if you don't plan on heavy overclocking, but the Z77A-G41 only has a 4+1+1 phase design which isn't particularly ideal. If it's just a light overclock then it'll be fine, but if you plan on adding a high-end aftermarket cooler in the future, you may struggle to add for voltage. Also, I'm pretty sure the Gigabyte 7950's are voltage locked, this Sapphire card would probably be a better choice. my experience with shapfire(had 2 cards) = bad quality they all died after a year . my friend has an 7870oc edition and i told him to not buy shapfire. well he has. and now he has blackscreening because of some wrong capacitors in the back of the pcb... and if the voltage is locked you can still do a voltmod on the card still i cant say anything bad for the 7950 from shapfire because i didnt had it in my hads yet

  11. What'd you get? Here's the price of the 3570k at a store by my house. shipping is somtimes so expensive that it's just not worth it..
  12. higher is better :) anyway the artic mx4 is great! (8.5W/mk)
  13. if you have an decent build dont go cheap on thermal paste! (well if you have a dell or somthing just use toothpaste xD ) more w/mk = better. (you want to carry the heat as fast as possible trough the termal paste... i recomend the artic silver (5 i think) 1.5w/mk vs 9w/mk could mean a 25°C difference in temps..
  14. just in case you missed. the i5 3570k cost the same as an amd 8350fx ... and in this case amd would destroy the 3570 edit: if you buy an amd with the m5a97 feel free to pm me if you need any help with overclocking it :)
