  1. Hi guys, So i have installed Jellyfin on my Sysnology NAS. I am able to connect to the Jellyfin server over port 49159, but when i try and connect as a client on the default port of 8096 it says it cant connect to the server. As the server is sitting in its own LAN (My server LAN which is separate from my User LAN), i have traffic visibility to it from my Palo Alto. As i can connect to it over port 49159 i know network connectivity is not the issue. The Palo logs shows the traffic to port 8096 and its allowed but im getting 'tcp-rst-from-server' so there jellyfin is seeing the traffic but dropping it basically. I changed the port to something else and tried again, still with the same result. I have stopped and restarted the server and did a uninstall and re install, same results. I have done a port scan and indeed, port 8096 is not open on the server. Any ideas? TIA
  2. Thanks for the reply man, Ive only had this a week and bought from new so i haven't done any cleaning / maintenance yet. Yea I'm outputting to an external monitor. So the fans shouldn't be clogged or nothing. My issue is that it runs a fairly newish games, Fallen Order and max settings stable at 60fps for hours, but then struggles with A very old Batman game and Ghost Recon after 5 minutes, and even turned the graphics settings to the lowest. I don't think its the games being badly optimized so thinking it must be a issues with the laptop? I can still return it at this point so thinking i may do that.
  3. So, I recently bought a MSI Katana GF66, Link. My issue is that while it plays Jedi fallen order and GTAV pretty much maxed out and stable 60fps at 2560x1080. It seems to really struggle with some other games, which it should crush. For example, Batman Arkham Origins, Ghost recon wild lands and Assassins creed Odyssey run terrible. Like on Ghost Recon it runs like I'm using a raspberry pie. Even when i turn all the setting to the lowest the fps fluctuate massively. On my last attempt to play it was running OK at first then the frames started to drop, I dropped the graphics settings to the lowest and then i was getting about 15-20 fps??? The GPU was hitting the power limiter but it does this in Fallen Order also and its not really noticeable in game so not sure this is the issue. I also use NVIDIA Experience to load the 'best' graphics options and they still run very rough. Surely the games cant just be so badly optimized. Should i just try and send the laptop back and get a refund? Or is there something i should try. I appreciate that this is using a laptop RTX3070 but i would expect it to play games that like with no issues. I attached a screen shot of the temps after running Ghost Recon for about 10 mins. It gets hot! But its a gaming laptop so high temps should be expected? TIA
  4. Hi guys, So I had to re build my Plex server. I copied all the files over again onto the Plex storage pool, but... It says it has filled my other storage volume but in file manager its showing the files on the Plex drive??? I have restarted the server and its the same. Has anybody come across this issue before? Storage pool only has about 200GB in it currently. Thanks.
  5. Hi Guys, Needing some help from server guys and gals. So I'm wanting a home server for the following: PLEX GNS3 / EVE-NG Automatic backup for phones / Macbook General file storage Currently I'm using an old Synology (Dual core / 2GB RAM) So ok for everything above aside from running GNS3 / EVE-NG. I have a PC I don't really use anymore, I'm going to sell the GPU but the rest of the specs are as follows: Ryzen 5 3600 4x 8GB 3200mhz RAM Asrock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 EVGA Supernova G2 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply Would this be suitable to re-purpose and replace my old Synology? I'm know id need a more power efficient PSU as it would be on 24/7 and I would also move it to a smaller case and also add 10gig Ethernet card. So, question 1. Would theses parts be suitable for a 24/7 server, changing the PSU and maybe the motherboard? Question 2. What OS would be suitable for what I need of the server? I do really like the Synology OS but don't think its available to download and use on your own hardware and not sure how well it plays with VM's. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi guys, does anyone know if the S21 (base one not the ultra or anything) will work with the Gear VR? If not what other head sets, preferably with a controller would work? Thanks.
  7. I get what your saying but i wanted to save 2 slots for another 32GB kit if needed
  8. Yea ill get the 1 M.2. The RAM is for running various VM's and EVE-NG / GNS3 both are network simulators that eat up RAM for when im studying.
  9. So, upgrading my current build as i need to run VM's and things like GNS3 and EVE-NG Current i5-4690K 8GB RAM some super low end motherboard. GTX 1060 6GB Samsung 850 EVo 3 x Hard Drives. 650 WATT Corsair PSU (im sure its 650, i cant see it in my case atm) to Ryzen 3700X https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-ryzen-7-3700x-eight-core-4.4ghz-socket-am4-processor-retail-cp-3b7-am.html Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB) 3000mhz RAM https://www.overclockers.co.uk/corsair-vengeance-lpx-32gb-2x16gb-ddr4-pc4-24000c15-3000mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-cmk32gx4m2b3-my-459-cs.html MSI X570-A PRO (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 Chipset https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-x570-a-pro-amd-am4-ddr4-x570-chipset-motherboard-mb-34j-ms.html My budget was around £600, this come in at £557 so still have a little money to play with. I can get 2x 128GB m.2 drives. Motherboard spec says it can support 2 so is this worth it and running them in RAID 0? or just a single 256GB? Or should i get better RAM or motherboard? Thanks.
  10. Hi, So Im needing to upgrade my computer for GNS3/EVE-NG for networking lab work. Currently i have a i5 4690k, 8GB ram, gtx 1060 6GB. and both programs don't really work so well. i was thinking of something like this and swapping out my current motherboard. CCL 4.3GHz AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Bundle - 32GB, Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Motherboard https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CCL-4-3GHz-AMD-Ryzen-7-2700X-Bundle-32GB-Gigabyte-B450-AORUS-M-Motherboard/382988601776?hash=item592be649b0:g:m3kAAOSwbcBdoKIW From E-bay for £385. A good buy for what i need? Also if this would negatively impact gaming performance its not an issue as i don't really game anymore. Thanks.
  11. So, trying to install Qradar CE on a VM. All goes well and it starts installing until i get this message. "error community edition requires centos linux or red hat enterprise linux release 7.5 . found centos linux release release 7.7.1908 (core). Anyway do downgrade Centos as i cant seem to fine the required version of 7.5. (None GUI) If i were to find and install 7.5 would it auto update to 7.7? (Linux noob if you cant tell) Thanks.
  12. Hi, so I've just bought this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352643144257 It says in the description that no HHD caddys come with it. My question is can I still use normal 2.5/3.5 SATA drives with it if I getto rig them in without caddys, will I need separate connectors/cables if I use SATA drives or can I only use SAS drives? Thanks guys
  13. just want to know why the score was lower and why its running at high clock speed when pretty much idle.
