Was selling some DDR3 on a local person-to-person website and had more than one ask me if this is AMD or Intel RAM. WTF is this crap about?

    You can blame retailers/manufacturers. This is very common.

    @djdwosk97 thankfully you rarely see this kind of stuff. As I've never really encountered it while building.

    RAM is RAM is RAM in my experience.

    For the most part memory controllers aren't that finicky, so it's not the case in practice, but retailers/manufacturers still do it.
