I have a phone with just the USB type C and while I like it, I miss having a headphone jack.

Particularly because the only USB C to headphone jack adapter that works is the one sold by HTC, that is cheaply made and breaks easily. Somehow they've made it so that other adapters just flat out do not function, as in the phone doesn't even see that one is plugged in. I bought one on amazon that claimed to be HTC compatible, no dice.

    Yay "smart" phones...

I have a remarkable solution on my phone, its a seperate 3.5mm jack and USB C port

But companies want to abandon the 3.5mm jack... Why not make a phone with two type C ports, or in the case of the iphone, 2 lightning ports?

You'd at least be able to charge and listen without this article's absurd product!

I can't stand wireless periperals. They seperately need to be charged, require more processing power to run, and cost more.

Evga still sells them at MSRP on the official evga store, they are super anal about only allowing 1 purchase.

Until he has to buy a 1080Ti... GPU prices are absolutely nuts right now. I paid less for my entire system than my GPU has inflated to.

    Yep pretty sure.
Just found another thread buried in another forum...
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/changing-the-asus-rog-strix-gl502vs-db71-to-a-15-6-120hz-panel.804163/
They're saying its 120hz and it is working(except for g-sync). I'll give it a go, I'll keep Panelook bookmarked. Thanks!!

I should add that Panelook is a fantastic database for LCD specs.

Here is the spec page for the LCD in my TV at home.

The green highlight is what you really want to look for on both the old and new panels.

    Got models for them?

If you're replacing the screen with a higher resolution or refresh rate, 99% of the time you'll need a higher model's ribbon cable going to the screen with more data channels.

This is why 1366x768 was such a common resolution, you'd need double the data channels to go higher (before they changed the data protocol from LVDS to eDP around the intel 4th gen era)

Glenwing, do you ever experience this?

I had a look at it but seems time consuming and I need sleep :P. Will try it tomorrow after University, thanks!

In rare cases, I've seen artifacting caused by overheating, but today's stuff just underclocks itself when they get too hot, its called thermal throttling.

Try downloading MSI Afterburner and first just setting your GPU fans to full speed to lower temps and see what happens. Failing that, drop your core and memory clocks down a bit and see if that fixes it.

I have a 760Ti that has degraded so badly that it needs -500mhz on the core clock to run stable, but its... special.

I've never been impressed with ingame shadows, they never work right lol

Hopefully cleaning it will help, but if you start getting artifacts, try fiddling with clocks.
