iamdarkyoshi got a reaction from GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
I was unable to get this awful software to work with both cards installed, had to remove the 750Ti

Alright, I've got issues.
Added a 750Ti to a vega64 rig, and now the vega card won't fold. It just gets stuck in a loop of downloading, running, ready, and repeat.
How do fix?

I don't, sadly
I've been going off of https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=223518
and
https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=667708
And weirdly my 24 hour averages have only been what the 1080Ti normally does. They should be higher...

Whoops, last night I was at 184,334,594 points.

Ouch...
Speaking of OCs, my testbench is running a 3570K at 4.5ghz on air, and I've had it all the way up to 4.8 before.

Its just to slice models actually. It pegs the CPU turning it into GCode, then pegs the GPU trying to render the toolpath lol

Yeah the 12v rail is only rated for 196w, and the TDP of the 125w phenom and 75w 750Ti exceed it a bit, and they're not the only ones drawing power off the 12v rail...
Its not ideal but it runs my 3d printer.
-
iamdarkyoshi got a reaction from GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
Yeah I calculated this week to be about 20-30 bucks roughly.
And yeah the 3d printing PC's PSU is running right on its edge, its from a SFF dell office PC...

The phenom rig was drawing exactly 200w.
Vega64 + ryzen 5 is only about 100-150w more than the phenom and 750Ti.
The 1080Ti PC is by far the most efficient one here, drawing only 70w more than the phenom/750Ti rig, while outputting well over 10x the PPD.

iamdarkyoshi got a reaction from GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
Oh dear. We're drawing like 1.2KW. And tomorrow I'm adding my brother's vega64 to the mix...

Bit of a change of plans.
I've ripped a 750Ti out of the testbench because I seemed to somehow be bottlenecked by a 4.5ghz 3570K...
This allowed me to channel more air into the GTX 970
I put the spare 750Ti into my HTPC
Yes, I prevent GPU sag with a fan, and yes, the fan is moving air
I hope the 970's fans can handle this week long session, one of them is quite chattery.

I know, I've been buying one of every flavour I can find. Hence why I have so many damn videocards
-
iamdarkyoshi got a reaction from GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
I haven't seen that flavour before...
I'm gonna buy one and see
Edit: That one's got an SLI port, and 750Tis didn't support SLI
Look for one without an SLI connector. The red and black or red and silver dual fan ones seem to be a good start

So far, all the 2GB 750Ti chinese GPUs I've bought have been genuine. Maybe find a seller and see if you can get a bulk discount
-
iamdarkyoshi got a reaction from GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
I've entirely reinstalled windows and it still does it
And yeah there's no SLI going on in a node 202

Ooh I'm catching up!
I'd probably have you beat if I could make a script that says "OK" every time the core crashes due to nvidia drivers being nvidia drivers

*Readies 1080Ti, 780Ti, Three 750Tis, and the 760Ti succ edition*
Oh and the 970.
Should I unleash my triple GTX 480 rig?

I know I've been gone a hot minute but I'm back! A lot has changed in my life while I was gone from the forums, but that's a topic for another day.
For today, we've got a commodore 64 with matching monitor and disk drive , even have a joystick to go with it, But they're not in the best of shape at the moment...
I figured I'd make this a bit of a repair log, and post updates here as I make progress. Here's what we're working with currently:
The cats seem to be quite amused by the lot:
This is all well within my realm of insanity to get working again. I've even got a fully working C64 I can test chips in.
Stay tuned for updates! I go back to work wednesday night so progress will be halted until sunday evening rolls around, but I'll try to make some progress on the lot tonight, starting with the monitor.
Update 1: Monitor works outstandingly well!
Next up is the C64!
