Game soundtracks were better in the 80s.. wait…

The C64 and Amiga are my top faves for really cool music. Both have been extensively well used in the demoscene

I have censored it because although the NES's graphics aren't exactly what springs to mind when it comes to creating adult content, I'd rather not chance it lmao

Oh nice. If it was one of the ones I described, we have them at work and they all belong in the bin Sure, a review would be interesting. Curious how it'd stack up to the non plus version of the logitech K400.

Is it one of those silver trimmed ones with a steel ball bearing for a trackball and a really really tiny tab key?

This chip has something wrong internally, causing it to overload the regulator powering it. Substituting my own gruntier 3.3v line made the unit actually work, albeit drawing grossly more power than intended. You can see the bond wire carrying the excessice current in the faulty chip!

Albeit at a considerably higher current than normal, it actually does output video now:

Just need to wait for my replacement chip to come in from China. Almost certain the unit will be back up and running normally after that.

  12. I use Edge as my browser on android.

It has adblock built in, lets me set desktop view as the default for *all* websites, it has tabs on large displays instead of that button that opens a list of pages open, and most surprisingly, the share button integrates a URL tracking information cleaner.

I've not found another one that manages to do this.

What browser do you all use on mobile and why?

Switched from Chrome to Firefox because Chrome doesn't let you add extensions on mobile (I need my adblocker).

(But I can't uninstall Chrome, thanks Samsung.)

  17. I'm upgrading my network to 2.5gbit, which means new NICs for everything including the router.

However, I totally forgot I put a pcie 16x slot on the side of my router, so I could totally do this instead of trying to fit it in the case:

  20. Rather fascinatingly, my bedroom flatscreen correctly detects 240p and 480i (both "15khz" "standard definition") resolutions digitized and sent raw over HDMI.

240p is a "hack" of 480i that doesn't interlace but instead halves the effective resolution, and 480i (standard definition video) is not a normally supported resolution of HDMI.

As you can see, both are detected with the correct name and rendered correctly:

    PXL_20240119_110224134.thumb.jpg.93c3a4101f713eb2836f8bfce5af2da6.jpg

    PXL_20240119_110355391.thumb.jpg.b9dab8b8e97f461f5d6085f99f2269aa.jpg

I think this is my first display that not only shows "15khz" video over HDMI without issues, but it even can detect the difference between 240p and 480i. Neat.

LG 48A2 OLED for those curious.

i presume this is a leftover from analog inputs being on TV's (does it have an analog input?) because then it would have to be able to process these anyways, and presumably would process these by digitizing them first.

The response time when I first get into the car is about 2-3 seconds for the LCDs to fully transition between images. They've got thin film heaters inside them though and fairly quickly warm up to a reasonable temperature and perform fine. It feels like using a laptop from the 90s with a passive matrix LCD Oh and I'm still wearing shorts and a t shirt in this weather because I'm a lunatic.
