You bet! Finding a fourth drive cage was so damn hard!

    Also yes. Mutt NAS.

What is the OwO thing I've been seeing everywhere lately? Is it a face? God, I feel like I'm 40, but I'm roughly half that. All I think of is Tungsten Oxide whenever I see it.

How much storage do you have there?

  6. iamdarkyoshi

Twelve 1TB HDDs. Will be set up in RAIDZ2 for about 8TB of usable storage

If I could afford them I would buy them for myself. Have 21TB in my machine and another 9TB in a NAS and I'm still running out of storage as it is.

And I'm here with like 2,5 tb of total space and not even using 50% of it

I'm planning on replacing all of my 3TB drives with shucked 8TB drives a couple at a time.

Nothing would make me happier right now than a large budget to just rebuild my nas all at once.

@Syntaxvgm be careful which external drives you get. A few of the Seagate ones use their 8TB "Backup" drives which are SMR drives (ie. crap). Sometimes the same model external drive will have different drives inside as well. I'm not sure about WD but I assume it's the same.

@Spotty I know that, I'm going for specific WD ones (easystore and a couple of others) Reds or white label reds, I'm not ever putting shingle storage in there. When I originally bought the drives I have currently, segate had good drives and the 3TB ones I bought were slightly after the Taiwan flood late 2011 early 2012, which turns out they were rush models and terrible. Since gotten better ones, but wow.

And I've had a lot of problems with reds in the past too (the 5TB ones were awful), but the 8TB ones are good.
