Regardless of the Games Nexus revelations I have felt much of the same feelings depicted in Steve's main points.

Videos feel rushed in production Staff appear burning out as per their wishes to slow down in their "Linus can't watch" video Quality is dropping in data accuracy Linus starting to appear out of touch from community sentiment at times I too felt the cringe watching the water block video, then seeing Linus say on WAN basically accuracy wasn't worth $500 🤢 I appreciate the goals of LMG and hope we can see The Labs and LTT being a great resource in the future.
I sure enjoy The Labs entertainment / tour style videos in the wearhouse. But need to learn to trust their data first.

This topic will likely be locked/deleted but I want to make sure anybody reading this understands LMG is more than just Linus. If you want to buy the products, buy the products. If you want to still consume their content, do so. There are 100+ other non-Linus people working for LMG that likely are not part of the core issues being addressed right now.

I've watched Linus's content for a few years now, and i've always viewed it as entertainment.

How can you view it as anything but entertainment, when the factual errors, and inconsistencies within their own testing?

Everyone makes mistakes in the best of circumstances, absolutely no one expect perfection. But when the mistakes are the result of your output pace, when you leave those mistakes up to continue to rack up views and monetization, and excuse it because you made a correction on a forum post ON YOUR OWN COMMUNITY SITE, or mentioned it during your weekly 4 hour wan show in which you wax poetic about why everyone calling you out is unfair, and because the most important thing is really YOUR BOTTOM LINE....don't pretend you have the best interests of "the community" in mind.

You want trust? You want respect? You want credibility? Own your mistakes, without excuse, without justification, without trying to spin things, do damage control and blame this that and the other thing.

What you don't do, is take a prototype that's ON LOAN, designed for a SPECIFIC piece of hardware, fail to do the basic preparation of ensuring you have that SPECIFIC piece of hardware before beginning filming, realize during filming that everyone involved in the video FAILED to engage that basic preparation, decide "EH, close enough" and proceed to shit all over a small companies prototype because it's easier and cheaper then fixing your fuck up.

You build out personal rigs that cost tens of thousands of dollars, servers that cost hundreds of thousands, or more. You review individual components that cost THOUSANDS of dollars, knowing that the cost of custom loops, alone, can be THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Yet you pretend, surrounded by all these expensive "enthusiast" piece of tech, that $800 for custom water block, from a small company, is somehow without a market? And because YOU have made that assumption, the oversight and intentional mistake of EVERYONE involved no longer matter?

Are you so completely encompassed by yes men, looking at you as the golden goose that you've somehow been convinced this is anything short of immoral, unethical and childish? It's frankly kind of disgusting.

"Aw gee, we're only human, we make mistakes....der, live it" Isn't trying to "do better" Ignoring the cause of why these "mistakes" happen isn't trying to "do better" Being an entitled know it all while trying to place blame on everything and everyone else isn't trying to "do better"

Publicly acting like you've been wronged by not being given the chance to "give context" i.e the chance to convince someone not to summarize the depth of your "mistakes" as you're trying to rebrand yourself as a content creator that does lab quality testing....before you've attempted to do any lab quality testing, isn't trying to "do better"

That some people are savvy enough to account for the "mistakes" you publish, isn't the point. Many, many, many people are not. It's not "journalistic" to presume that your audience is going to be more knowledgeable than YOU ARE.

It's not "journalistic" to invest in  something that YOU PERSONALLY REVIEW. It's not "journalistic" to partner with a company that has products that YOU PERSONALLY REVIEW. Announcing at the top of the video "i have reason to be biased...but i'm totally not, cause i told you about it" Is just not ethical.

Let me be clear, i'm not "trying to jump on you" I'm trying to explain things in a way that you might grasp, before your only legacy is a shameful meme.

You think this who ordeal sucks because of what's happening to you.
Everyone watching, thinks the whole ordeal sucks BECAUSE of you.

People are reading his attitude as jealous or "attacking" mainly because of personal and mindset bias. If you go into a video with the mindset of "This guy is attacking Linus again" or "Man, Linus did some shit again", you'll get different emotional readings each time, specifically because of mindset bias.

It's basically why people have different views and opinions on content, because everyone understands something differently based on their own multiple unconscious bias. I read Linus apology and thought initially "huh, this doesn't seem too bad". But after realizing I had a unconscious bias benefitting LMG, I understood that yes, it's a not a well made apology and LMG needs to do better.

So for anyone who has the same issue I went digging around on the internet and found this.

I am using the same Joystick, a Logitech 3D Pro. It seems having a USB joystick or a controller like an Xbox One/360 controller will stop your display from shutting off.

That is really dumb. Why MS hasn't fixed it is beyond me.

But that's how you fix it.

And a bit of commentary... I feel a bit low about marching in here with my big cloud cluster and "winning." I had no need to win but, in fact, was on a learning rampage. I was learning AWS, the CDK, ECS, Docker, Nodejs, Typescript, auto-scaling, AWS Budgets, Linux, GitHub, pull requests... the list goes on an on.

I have tremendous respect for the rigs you built. Drooled over the build logs @Den-Fi posted. That stuff is beyond me. I can't even get LED strip to work on the front of my computer case!  Mine was an exercise in software architecture and cheap cloud computing at scale.

@walderston I'm not sure what you are running but that is an impressive climb! @n0xlf Linux fist-bump - good to fold with you. @leadeater and @GOTSpectrum fantastic way to build a community and run a contest.

Mine is sitting idle at the moment too as I'm not getting any CPU work right. GPU get's some but I have no info.

I think Stanford servers just getting smashed by all the new interest.

I noticed some issues just trying to look at stats URL before and was getting "bad gatway" errors as it appeared to load from the databse.

Mailchimp, which can be used to send out emails, has a feature where you can track whether recipients have:
Opened the email Downloaded the attachments, clicked on links etc. It is designed for email marketing but can work for staff bulletins. They also have apps for iOS and android where you can see who has read the email.

There is a very generous free tier, for 200 email addresses and 10000 emails a month, with paid upgrades available

    Thanks Kirky2k15,

This may help in the interim, I'll look into it a bit more. But we were hoping for something that was a little more attachment specific.
