  1. For the same price you can get a 1440p 144Hz monitor with Gsync. Then the 4K experience is much worse. I have a 1440p ultrawide with a 4K monitor next to it. 1440p on 4K looks significantly worse than 1440p on 1440p monitor. If you see them next to each other, it's night and day. 4K on 4K looks much better though than either of them.
  2. I didn't say that... 1440p on a 4K monitor is worse than 1440p on a 1440p monitor. You should run your games at the resolution of your monitor for the best experience. It highly depends what settings you are running for the difference between 1440p on high/ultra and 4K at low/medium. Depends on your GPU what framerates you can get. I would prefer 1440p on a 1440p at high settings over 4K on 4K monitor at much lower settings (given the fps are the same).
  3. But it will look a lot worse than playing at 1440p on a 1440p display. It might be better to put it in 4K and dial down the textures a bit (play on medium instead of high). For most games this gives a better experience.
  4. This is on my laptop. I use a dual monitor setup when I'm not on the road and want some similar functionality when only using 1 screen. But I'd like to also be able to change how large the screen is (like you could with apps in Win8).
  5. No, that's actually what I'm looking for. The example is what I want to achieve. What program can be used for this? (Nvidia 750m GPU if this matters)
  6. I'm looking for an extra editing monitor. Use is for Photoshop and Premiere Pro editing mainly. Illustrator will still be done on 25" Dell monitors (as a real life page and a page on screen are identical). It needs to have 10-bit color and wide gamut (98%+ AdobeRGB coverage). I was looking at these Dell's (see picture). I'm really interested in the 27" 5K Dell, but the Quadro M2000 can only drive 1 5K monitor, whilst it can drive 4x 4Kmonitors at 60Hz. Any other recommendations for a 27-32 inch monitor that answers to these specs and costs less than 1500$? Thanks in advance!
  7. Would be very gratefull if anyone knows how to do this!
  8. Nobody has a plugin for any browser that does this?
  9. I have a 21x9 display, which I do multiple things on at the same time. Like editing on the left side and youtube on the right. I cannot fullscreen a video like I could in windows 8 and just place my desktop on the left. So I'd like to use a window that is 16x9 on the right (video plays full lenght of the display) and still do something on the left 5x9 portion. I was wondering if it is possible to have a seperate window which I can scale to my liking. And Youtube should consider it a full desktop (so I can run "fullscreen" in the window). Without going to VM's obviously... This is an example of what I want to do:
  10. Hi everyone. I got the oppertunity to buy a 2008 Barco LX-5 for 2000$, is this a good deal? I am going to the guy selling it tomorrow.

Really excited about this giveaway! You have given us all this great content already and now you also do this ---mind blown---.
  12. Hi Linus! Been following you guys for the last 4 years and love all the fantastic contents you are putting out! Really like the giveaway, it's nice to see you guys care about the community so much. In a few days I will go to my second year of college, and this will be the second year without any technology around me. I have been trying to get money together for a Surface pro, but the expensive University, books and having to make your own food doesn't leave any money left. Currently I have 2 jobs (one every time after class and other one in the weekends) and still I have to ask for money to my parents to be able to pay for education. Winning the Surface Pro 3 would help me out a lot with my studies. I will probably not win anything, but please give away the prizes to people that need them, for whom it will make a difference in their life. Good luck with the future of Linustechtips. I will keep following you guys on youtube.
