  1. It's a vive cosmos. The screen that goes to your left eye does the artefacting. ifixit it call it an LCD
  2. I tried looking for the correct sub-forum to post this but there isn't much VR related stuff. Anyway, my left eye LCD has these weird purply artefacts on one half only https://imgur.com/rI9fN6e https://imgur.com/MfGJrQx Looking for second opinion to confirm what most likely is a dying LCD, but posting in case anyone has any ideas as it is generally a regular monitor in there. (It's not the GPU, PC works perfectly fine) I was hoping it may be the cable as mine has a weird kink in it, but ordered new one - still the same. Then I was hoping it may need a reseating so 20 screws later I was able to get to the screen connectors but nope - still there. What makes this even worse is there is no way to buy a replacement LCD. Ifixit used to sell these apparently but they are sold out now and I can't find them anywhere else. I'll be bidding on a faulty cosmos on ebay in hopes of the lcd on that one working but if that doesn't pan out - I'm SOL with an otherwise perfectly good and up to date vr headset (I made it into an elite with new face plate, base stations and joysticks) whose repair parts would cost 60$
  3. 1. Following your various reviews of bundles of mice and keyboards, I'd like to see the difference between computer cases at various price points. I've only ever bought cheapest of the cheap where the side glass is actually plastic, I'm sure there's a huge difference in quality and little quality of life improvements in the more expensive cases but I've never cared to experience it and could never justify the price difference. Like strategic holes for cable management, modularity (for drives), upgradability, etc. 2. Linus to shoot a video for "5 years into the future Linus" like he did "5y into the past Linus" few months back 3. Redo of the very first publicly available video - cover the same product in the somewhat same style but with all the upgrades of quality we have today.
  4. Hey guys, if anyone would enjoy this it'd be you: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/34235663/ https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/34238933/ Basically a dude thought he had secured an AMD card, posted it on ebay for 3x and even boasted about it on the forum. People flagged him to the store staff and he had his order canceled. There was another guy also, but not sure if he had his order canceled too.
  5. I was watching the WAN show, and I've always been against that stupid addon, like how do they make money ? Do they track and sell my info - no, so how do they make money exactly ... Well they claim they get something from the store you use the addon on. But this too doesn't make any sense, say you're shopping at amazon or something, you get 5% off a 100 mouse. Cool honey will claim that's 5$ straight into your pocket. Then HOney will get some percentage from amazon. Let's say it's a tiny 1% because they have many users. So out of 100$ amazon doesn't get 5, thanks to that honey code, and then they also don't get an extra 1. Why would they be loosing money like this ? Well the tiny thing I noticed with honey is, when you do your own research, for your own coupons, usually the first google result, you end up saving alot more. Here's my example that happened to me: I was shopping for a new mattress. Casper seamed nice. it was something like 600$. Honey offered to save me 40 or 50. The first google result's first coupon was saving me 100 and I was getting free pillows... Honey get money from the retailers to save you less money than you might actually be able to save on your own. This theory is further confirmed by the fact that most codes honey tries (that flash for less than a second) have "HONEY" in them, so they mostly try their own codes ... That whole thing is just very antycompetative for my taste so I've long parted ways with this lying SOB of an addon, just in the off chance they do actually track everything. I'd much rather google my own codes and save my own money. But definitly don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. Many times their codes will be the best, but many more times there will be better codes when the addon will claim there's no buyers remorse...
