If its just for pure gaming, i will go for the AD700X. BUT if you want something for overall use like gaming, music and movies, it will be the HD579 imo..
Note: they are open back so they leak sound..

    1. Yes. You can also adjust the volume should you want to via the controls.
    2. No, it will not, cos i tried them and also tried the Razer extender cable, no degradation as far as i am aware of, everything should be fine.

Only the speakers. I haven't come across a controller that controls the mic unless is manually done via control panel in pc.

IDK how much these costs there, but usually the first option which is always thrown out by me and others here is SHP9500+vmoda boompro.
Or you can go like HD558/559 + modmic/massdrop minimic (idk whether this will be in your budget or not). Closed back option can be something like M40x + modmic/massdrop minimic/lavalier mic

Hands down best gaming headset, nothing will come close to that deal imo. BUT do note those are open backs so sound will leak in and out of the headphone.

Exactly the same unit with difference in exterior color. G430 comes with an extra USB sound card which is crap imo, not worth it. Get whichever is cheaper should you want to purchase one.
If HyperX Cloud core is within your budget, try have a look at that one, its a better headset overall imo.

my shp9500 are fine for 50 beats almost anything out there for price range before I'd say my either pair of my superlux headphones were great buys with ear pad replacement

Except for modmic USB soundcard does affect the mic sound. Modmic seems to pickup a lot of EMI noise from motherboard and a USB soundcard solves this problem most of the time. Sounds better too compared to MB 3.5mm plug

nicobombai reacted to Dackzy in Is there a better 7.1 soundcard than Sennheiser GSX 1000?
And so what? It can still drive higher impedance headphones. It isn't like the amp in it won't output just because you hook up a higher impedance headphone, if it would then I did some magic to get it to. You can also hook up 300 ohm headphones to a Fiio e10k, even though it's "range" is also like 16-150 or something like that.

Also some of the headphones are under 150 ohm impedance. (k612 and he560).

Not that the impedance matters a whole lot when it comes to how hard a headphone is to drive, since it act as a voltage divider, the end power needs to be in line with whatever X dB/mW the manufacturer sets. Like look at the DT 880, you have a lot of different versions of it, like one is 250 ohm, one is 600 ohm, but the dB/mW stays the same. This is where it starts to get interesting, because they need to hit the same amount of power used, BUT physics say the voltage and current must change, it more specific dictates that the voltage must go up to overcome the higher resistance, but if we give it more voltage and don't change the current, then we end out with more power than we should have, since Voltage * Current= Power, so this means the current must go down, which means we end on the same number in the end, like we might see difference like 5.74mW vs 5.78mW (so small they don't matter). So they should in theory use the same amount of power, but because of how your typical headphone amp is, then it will feel like the higher impedance version will be harder to drive than the lower impedance version, simply because it can't output that much power to the higher impedance version, which is probably why we have this high impedance=hard to drive, but we also have OTL amps, which just fucks that nonsense up, because they can output most power at high impedance. So on a OTL amp you would feel that a low impedance headphone is harder to drive.
You should TBH be more worried about the output impedance of your amp. It can really change your sound a lot. If you hook up a set of Andromeda IEMs to a 0.1 ohm OI source and then also a 4 ohm OI source, then you will be able to hear how it changes the sound. More specific the bass in this case. I sadly don't have more time, but you can always look it up and test for yourself.

In some places, the headphones you are looking for can sometimes be cheaper or at the same price of the Fulla 2. IIRC, i saw dt990 at $100-120 range (for a week) last year at Amazon US.

With that being said, he meant, its not advisable to spend more on the amp than the cost of the headphone itself. Its better to get a better headphone than spending more on the amp/dac.

IF you can get that Senn HD598 CS for 100, why not? Though I'm a fan of the Beyerdynamic house sound (nice tight bass with sparkly highs), but I know it's not for everyone. The Sennheiser HD598 CS is, overall, a more polite pair of can (NOT that it's polite per se) and should suit most.

Shout out to a fellow LG phone user, I had the V20 (most excellent phone that can actually drive some harder to drive cans) but it was so good, it was stolen. Anyway, I have the G6 and I'm just as happy with it, plus 18:9 screen is just the shizznizzle when it comes to watching movies.

Jokes aside, i would go for a proper headphone and a standalone mic. Way better value and sound quality.
    Some examples:
    -K7XX or HD6XX + modmic
    -SHP9500 + boompro

Depends on the preference, bass intensive (v-shape) or neutral sound sig, closed/open back, where are you using it (alone in the room or in the living room etc.)

I will not touch any of those you mentioned. It's expensive cos of the "gaming" tag they posses, its a normal headphone with included boom mic and they jack up the prices like crazy but they do come in as a all in one solution.
However, you can get a better value for money with a headphone and separate mic combo.
I will go for something like this:
    Cheap: SHP9500 (o) + vmoda boompro or AD700X (o) + modmic
    Medium: DT770 (c) / DT990 (o) / K7XX (o) / HD6XX (o) + modmic or Philips X2 (o) + vmoda boompro
    More Expensive: TH-X00 (c) + modmic

Personally i feel X2 + boompro or HD6XX + modmic (better analytical sound signature) is a great combo for fun gaming and enjoying movies in general.
But HD6XX posses 2 cables + 1 more from the modmic which can be a hassle, whereas the X2 + boompro results in 1 cable for easier all in one solution for gaming.

    Legend:
    o - open back
    c - closed back

Note: there will be some difference in preference, i'm speaking out of my preference.
