  1. If you can stretch a little bit more for the cloud core, then you will be gold. Its the budget version of Cloud 2, just minus the accessories they come with and they can easily blow siberia 150 and stinger out of the water.
  2. Its not as good as the SHP9500, but if you're in a strict budget then go ahead. You're basically paying the "gaming" badge on it. Its an okay headset better than most gaming headset out there, but that being said, there are more superior headpones/headsets out there. The USB dongle is crap imo, breaks easily and doesn't provide a good "dac" either. If i buy those, i will just plug it straight to the mobo than the crappy USB dongle.
  3. Great combo for the price. I used it and loved playing fps games with it. And there are 2 options regarding the mic: 1. Modmic - great mic, "slapped" on to the side grill of the headphone and will result in 2 cables running along towards the source. 2. Vmoda boompro - good mic, plugs in directly to the headphone making it a headset and results in 1 cable going towards the source, more convenient for all platform usage imo.
  4. Is the cable detachable? If yes, most probably Audio Technica is selling spares for the boom mic..
  5. I never tried that headset, but i do have a good feeling it will be better. But if you already own that headset, why get a new one? Is it spoiled or something?
  6. All gaming headsets are closed back with very very few exceptions. If i were you, i would go for a headphone + vmoda boompro, something along the lines of philips SHP9500 + vmoda boompro. Best gaming headset you can find in $100 category. Open back, good soundstage and imaging, but these are treble intensive so bass might be lacking for some people but for FPS games, the combo is very good.
  7. Plantronics gaming headsets in general are decent but i liked the gamecon 380 (quite okay for the price around $15 at that time cos of discounts), siberia 200 is the rebrand of the v2, which are also decent. G231 is just slightly better than those two in my opinion.
  8. From all the given options, i will go for G231, its exactly like g430 but without the usb soundcard which in my opinion is a gimmick. If you can get HyperX Cloud core, that will be the best out of all the options you put here. BUT if you can get this SHP9500+vmoda boompro, that will be the best gaming headset under $100, no gaming headsets under, same price or higher priced (with some exceptions) that can compete with it. SHP9500 is an open back headphone + a boom mic = gaming headset.
  9. Try looking at RHA MA750i, i like it, the guy from innerfidelity likes it. For me personally is a fun IEM, "balanced" sound with slight emphasis on the bass to make it fun casual listeners. You can read the review here: https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/reid-and-heath-acoustics-ma750-ear-monitor-page-2 Its priced around $100 +/- I got em for $70 at that time.
  10. Hmmm ic.. May i ask, how much does this cost there? Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 If its in your budget, given your preference, i think it will be a great choice (since you will be travelling most of the time, having a headphone with detachable cable will be a good deal for you) If you can't swing for MSR7, Beyer COP or HD598CS is a good option too.
  11. Jokes aside, i would go for a proper headphone and a standalone mic. Way better value and sound quality. Some examples: -K7XX or HD6XX + modmic -SHP9500 + boompro Depends on the preference, bass intensive (v-shape) or neutral sound sig, closed/open back, where are you using it (alone in the room or in the living room etc.)
  12. If you're on the go most of the time, you can have a look at Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro or COP for short. They are similar with dt770 but with bass slider, from little bass to loads of bass by just sliding the "lever" underneath the headphone. Removable cable for convenience and compatible with vmoda boompro and also Beyer's boom mic, you should find this headphone great for your usage.
  13. IIRC, Corsair RAMs are compatible with most ryzen mobos out there. Just dont forget to update the BIOS of the mobo if you get the older version and also update once in a while. OC ing to 3200mhz, its another story tho..
  14. I will not touch any of those you mentioned. It's expensive cos of the "gaming" tag they posses, its a normal headphone with included boom mic and they jack up the prices like crazy but they do come in as a all in one solution. However, you can get a better value for money with a headphone and separate mic combo. I will go for something like this: Cheap: SHP9500 (o) + vmoda boompro or AD700X (o) + modmic Medium: DT770 (c) / DT990 (o) / K7XX (o) / HD6XX (o) + modmic or Philips X2 (o) + vmoda boompro More Expensive: TH-X00 (c) + modmic Personally i feel X2 + boompro or HD6XX + modmic (better analytical sound signature) is a great combo for fun gaming and enjoying movies in general. But HD6XX posses 2 cables + 1 more from the modmic which can be a hassle, whereas the X2 + boompro results in 1 cable for easier all in one solution for gaming. Legend: o - open back c - closed back Note: there will be some difference in preference, i'm speaking out of my preference. You can also have a look here:
  15. SHP9500 + Vmoda boompro is also a good option under $100. Great headset combo and will blow most of the gaming headsets, even the expensive ones..
  16. If you're able to try them before buying, have a look at RHA MA750, I like them, innerfidelity likes em and i quote: "The MA750 from Scotland-based RHA brings the bass with a deep, hard-hitting low end and warm tonal character. A bit of treble sparkle counteracts what would otherwise likely be a somewhat dull-sounding earphone, resulting in a fun, if not exactly neutral, sound. Though it is slightly more expensive than the Shure SE215 model it replaces, the MA750 is even more certain to please both bassheads and casual listeners." You can have a look at the review and hall of fame here: https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/innerfidelitys-wall-fame-earphones#SLUbJDueyQcxdR0d.99
  17. XG2401 is a better choice. I got XL2411 and have compared with few models after my purchase. XG2401 takes the cake, then LG 24GM77, then the other models such as XL2411 etc.
  18. If it's only for pure gaming, AD700X gets my vote. Those things are phenomenal for gaming. They are more towards the treble side, so bass is present but not that much. EDIT: DT880 is also a good option. IMO, spending $300 for headphone just for pure gaming is kinda absurd. If you're looking for overall use, not just for gaming, then it's justified.
  19. What's the price of HD558 there? its an all-rounder headphone at that price imo. Good for music, fun for gaming and also enjoyable for movies. It's an open back headphone tho, so sound will leak in and out of the headphone at normal listening levels.
  20. Not enough to block out conversation in the other room, in the same room they can listen to everything you're playing, but in the other room, i don't think so, that is on normal listening levels not the i don't give a F loud listening level
  21. HD6XX and HD650 are practically the same with different exterior and name iirc. If you can get the HD6XX, for gaming or for other purposes, that will be a great option. BUT do note that its an open headphone, so sound will leak both in and out of the headphone. Normal listening levels will not leak that much sound out tho..
  22. Get a Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X, its only $120 and better than many gaming headsets out there. G4me one is based on HD558 with modified drivers and a boom mic, PC37x is based on the hd598 with modified drivers and a boom mic (which is good for all rounder entertainment imo). Another alternative is SHP9500 + vmoda boom pro, its $100, beats majority of all the gaming headsets out there. Open back, good imaging and soundstage, treble focused, bass is present but not as much as many people expect it to be. Note: gaming headsets are okay, but many of the gaming headsets out there are cheap headphones + boom mic and a gaming tag and the jack the prices like crazy and don't get me started with their 7.1 surround sound feature present in these gaming headsets.
  23. Philips SHP9500 + vmoda boompro gets my vote. Great combo, no gaming headset can match its performance sound quality wise. I heard Qpad also had the same headset maker as HyperX clouds, but didn't knew they were true or not. Where as HyperX Cloud core - 1 & 2 are made by Takstar on the base of Pro 80 with modified drivers. However the new Cloud Alpha are less tweaked to sound more like the Pro 80 as of what i heard.
  24. M50X is quite good but overpriced, but i think M40X will be a better value for money deal, they have kinda similar sound sig, with m40x being tad flatter and also having tad better soundstage. M40X + modmic or SHP9500 + vmoda boompro. SHP9500 is a great open back headphone, gets lots of recommendation and very cheap, add a boompro and you get a superb gaming headset under $100 (with amazon current pricing).
  25. Many people will say Massdrop x Sennheiser HD6XX is one of the best out there, in terms of value and also sound quality, which is HD650 rebranded into HD6xx at a lower price. At $199, i will agree with them. Do they need dac or amp? not really, however they do benefit from one, you can purchase it later on if you fancy doing so.
