  1. Thank you so much everyone who responded, I have lots of useful data now! Of course any more answers would be appreciated If anyone wants I can display the data here?
  2. Can you please answer this survey on game play habits for me for my college work. It is short, only 10 questions! https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/P6Z582C
  3. Hi there, I am working on a project to design a computer case from scratch and I started of doing concepts in blender but now getting more serious about it I am trying to use a CAD program for the first time and having trouble. Anybody got any help they can give me to get to grips with it.
  4. This should mostly be solved by placing the fins vertical instead of horizontal. This will be in a soon to come render of concept ver 2.0.
  5. Continuing the case design and development here on my other account; http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/432900-iapetus-case-design-project-lifeblood/
  6. It is a bit square and fat at the moment but don't worry, I'll be putting it on a weight loss treatment very soon
  7. That is my idea Except the case will be almost all aluminium with a steel frame and copper tubing running behind the scenes along the radiators built into the case dissipating heat through the copper pipe. Ultimately the idea is that you will be able to put your system in, connect your tubing up to quick disconnect fitings and you will be away. The only thing you will need is your system, waterblocks, a little tubing and ta da. The pump and resivour will be in the top soundproof compartment.
  8. Really awesome case. Those renders look really professional, is there somewhere I can source models of components for my case design project? Also what software did you use to render/model. Sorry for all the annoying questions but how did you go about finding a manufacturer because I am stabbing in the dark on my case design project. Once again, love the project, good luck!
  9. Yep, that's one of the issues I am designing the case around, also I will need to put anti biological chemicals in the loop because pipes would be hard to clear if there were blockages.
  10. I am currently working on a case concept that incorporates radiators into a case body, with fins all over the back side panel and base and loads of copper tubing hidden within the case. Also a seperate top compartment noise proofed to house the pump and resivoir. The case could just wave a few pipes sticking out of the body to connect the system loop to. I would go with an industrial clean design of just pure mabey brushed or powder coated aluminium with a glass side panel and copper tubing. The benefits of this case would be large noise reduction from isolating pump noise and it could probably be passively cooled but I would like to incorporate some Noctua redux 12db fans just to give the internals and fins some airflow. The cooling would be badass. The aesthetic of a case with fins all over would be badass ECT... I will work on 3d modelling and rendering my idea over the week to clarify my ideas. Would appreciate any input on this and apologies for any grammatical errors in this post, or lack of clarity, its 3 in the morning and im on my phone.
  11. This is my first build log so go easy on me This is a media PC that I am building for my dad that will be sitting underneath the TV in a small shelf. The space and rear exhaust ventilation of the shelf is very limited so I will need the PC to be cooled effectively but because its a media PC it will also need to be quiet. 12. Wow, the most toxic thread I've seen on the LTT forums (behind Intel vs AMD and NVIDIA vs AMD obviously) is about steel vs aluminium case construction
  13. If you aren't too constrained you should definitely incorporate the pipes radiators and resivoir of a watercooling loop into your case with fittings for the rest of the pipes. One that would be badass, two that would save you at least £100+ and three the body of the case could aid in cooling decreasing the amount of/rpm of fans, decreasing noise. Also you wouldnt have to worry nearly as much about metal mixing in your loop . Just think about it......
  14. If you need anything modeled that isnt biological I would be happy to help as im trying to build up my portfolio but damn I suck at modelling anything biological
