Lauen reacted to Lays in AKG K240 vs Superlux HD668B
Of course, anyone who tells you to spend more on an amp than headphones is a person that doesn't know much about how audio works. There are plenty of options for headphone amps that won't murder your wallet.

Lauen got a reaction from Boochik in Better and cheaper Headphones than Audio technica M50x ?
I find my SRH440 to be better than M50s, and cost less (especially here in Norway were nothing good is on sale ever). Especially with 840 pads. I have reviews of both in my signature.
Sony MDR-7506 and v6 are supposedly also great.

Lauen reacted to Lays in Should i use my velvet ear pads?
Why not try both and see what you like more?
Also, the pads that come with the HyperX cloud are pleather, not real leather. It's a "leatherette" material.

That's nice to hear (no pun intended). I guess I'll grab an O2 and leave it at that, then.

Fun fact. The price just rose from 59£ to 89£. That makes me happy I bought them yesterday. :-)

If you still want a microphone, I would highly recommend picking up a ModMic 4.0, which can be added right onto the DT990 Pro's. http://www.modmic.com/collections/frontpage

I have just now bought the CHC silverado's on Amazon.co.uk for a total of 69£. And my brother said he wanted to buy my JVC's :-).
It ended up being more expensive than Amazon.com, but they don't send to Denmark.
Thank you to everyone that helped me choose :-)

350 is the cash you have left if you buy the Silverado's instead of the MOE, in case you didn't understand

Lauen reacted to Gdourado in Phoebus vs STX II 7.1
I still haven't received them, but once I do, I will be sure to post my impressions here.
As for the sound card, going to use the onboard for now.
Cheers!

Lauen reacted to Mooshi in How to deal with internet arguments?
Mature way: Either ignore entirely or remain civil with facts and sources. If the other party still refuses to listen, block.
Immature way: Call them a faggot and carry on.
Edit: Oh, this is audio related. The one subculture more obnoxious than the PC vs Mac / PC vs Console crowd. The simple reality is that not everyone hears the same, graphs and all about specs are nice, but the *only* thing that matters in the audio world is if it sounds good to *your* ears. Anything else is here say. For studio use, the only thing that matters is how close everything sounds to the source. The more true, the better. Sound for studio is to be non-colored while consumer audio is allowed to be more warm and have things like more emphasis on the bass. How this simple reality is foreign to some people in the audio world is a mystery.

My man, there isn't much to do. Like everyone else said, if you start feeling angry because of what you read in a monitor, you need to get up and do something else.
If you want to seriously help someone and that someone is being a jerk, end the argument with: "Well, that's what I think, if you want my help or want to ask me anything, PM me. Have a nice day :)"

Lauen got a reaction from ShearMe in ATH 700X FOR GAMING
they are high sensitivity / low impedance headphones so they should work just fine on onboard audio, if your motherboard is relatively new (5-6 years max, I'd say)

Lauen reacted to ShearMe in Any closed headphones that don't have terrible soundstage?
So save by just getting the 770's.

I know my farts always sound a little more distorted with decent reverberation if I use a tube, but there ain't no way I m trying solid state farting, hell no.

I utterly and completely disagree with your assumption on DSD.
Listening to my music at 500 mhz has shown not only a whole new range of frequencies to me, it has also expanded my soundstage and increased the speed and dynamics of my headphones. Never before have I heard such aural bliss, the soundstage never ends on my ATH-M50, it is like I am listening to music with one speaker in China, and the other in North America!
The transient response has increased dramatically, the amount of detail my ATH-M50 are reproducing is almost like I am sitting in the singers vocal chords listening to them sing! I have always considered myself to have a golden ear, and now this is backing it up, as none of my friends can hear the difference but I can!
Listening to my M50's now with DSD files such as the whole album of "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd has never been so rewarding! I can hear all of their background singers, as well as Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar in the studio next-door!
I highly recommend you spend some time trying out DSD files to confirm all of these things I've mentioned!
@ShearMe sent me here to proclaim my wisdom for you.

I love Glenn, he's amazing! came across him when I saw a video "how to record heavy guitars" or something on my youtube feed a couple weeks ago. it's even better because one of my best IRL friends plays bass and we mock bassists LOL
