  1. u wot m8. the M50's have one of THE narrowest soundstages. and in an objective view, they're bass heavy. and comfort varies from person to person, for me the pads touched my ears, so several hours of use was impossible, and the pads got harder over time. style is also subjective, I myself think they look "meh", while my CHC Silverado's look brilliant.
  2. It is technically better, but the audible difference varies, I don't think it will be much of a difference unless you're having some interference, crackling, popping or hissing.
  3. You might maybe need an amp for the DT770 250 ohm, as they are higher impedance, but they might get loud enough for you on your onboard, I'd just see how it is on your onboard, if it isn't loud enough, or there is crackling, popping, hissing or something, then we can start talking amps and dacs.
  4. You would have to get an audio interface of some sort. or just a Blue Icicle. I think. I almost ordered one, but then I realized it was the XRL version.
  5. no, but it was a signifcant change in volume. why do you ask? FYI it was with a pair of Shure SRH440 headphones which are quite efficient, and low impedance.
  6. That is entirely subjective, for example: I listen to music on my PC at around 20-28% volume, and when a friend borrowed it, he turned it up to around 40%, something might be loud for someone, and just average volume for someone else.
  7. but you might not need it? it might get loud enough for you without extra stuff
  8. Unless you're blaring your music at deafening volumes, it shouldn't be an issue. and also Razer Surround should just install and update, afaik
  9. The DT990 would be the better choice IMO, but they might not get to an adequate volume level for you if you're just using onboard audio (you might be luckier with one of those audio boost or pure audio thing motherboards) and phone. They're also open, so they won't be as nice for use when you're out and about. but if you're considering M50's, I'll just say this: they're very uncomfortable, for me and many other people. they sound alright, BUT there are many other headphones that probably sound better for you in the same price range, if not cheaper, like the Shure SRH440 with 840 pads, I recommend you take a look at those instead of M50s.
  10. Even though you say you've been doing it for a long time already it's still dangerous, but if you absolutely need something, I used to take off the speakers on Koss PortaPros and shove them in there, sometimes it took a few minutes of trying to get them to fit properly, but eventually it worked alright, and they don't isolate anything so you can actually hear stuff. but that was back when I drove a moped that went like 60 kilometers pper hour, which is like 40 miles per hour or so.
  11. you can change it, but the only one Shure sells is the 3M straight one.
  12. yeah it is. Also, is there a reason for you wanting closed headphones? a noisy environment?
  13. they are easily powered, but open, but not portable at all.. but I cast my vote for the Shure SRH440 with 840 pads, very little clamping, and the pads are pretty nice
  14. Not sure if you would like the sound of the 380s, they're very flat headphones, not everyone likes the sound of flat headphones. on the other hand, I have no idea how the PC350 sounds.
  15. Yeah, pads aren't the nicest ever, but they literally don't clamp at all, really nice for when I have a headache.
  16. They already sound pretty good, afaik, so uhm yeah.. they're also lighter.
  17. Unless you're in a noisy environment, open headphones are better for gaming. Open headphones usually have a wide soundstage, so you can more accurately hear where things are without the use of silly virtual surround. Take a look at these: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SE-A1000-Over-Ear-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B0033PROOY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394697265&sr=8-1&keywords=Pioneer+SE-A1000 and a Mod-Mic or something like that if you can ship it to Canada.
  18. It depends on if you want closed headphones or open headphones. Closed headphones will isolate sound, and open headphones will probably sound better to you. Before I start recommending headphones, where are you located?

Spotify Premium on high quality gives me 320 kbps MP3 on my phone, good enough. Only thing I can say that is bad is the battery life on my Lumia 920 with automatically updated email and snapchat, but with battery saving mode, I'll squeeze several hours out of 20% power. and I send like 20-30 snaps per day.
  22. I do believe me plugging in my J33's to my D2X and then turning up the volume because it was really shitting low for some reason ruined them, they crackled a lot, and then died a few days later. I don't know why I did it, probably out of curiosity.
  23. sometimes I just wish I was in the US or even just closer, amazon has some sick sales some times. and that lepai amp. EDIT: I shit you not, here in Norway, that Polk sub is 520 usd.
