  1. Try this one, not sure if it'll work on Windows 8, but whatever EDIT: that link didn't work, but moose got it.

    On board audio

That would be the Purity Sound. and they're doing it the proper way, with that 0.3 ohm output impedance. ASRock is growing on me...

Well if it's boring for you, then you're not interested enough! Also, when it comes to the topic we're on right now, it's not really subjective at all.. I hardly doubt anyone would prefer a 64 kbps MP3 song to a 320 kbps one, really. and mr moose here has been working with audio for many years, I trust him to know what he's talking about, and have heaps of knowledge about it.

dunno if it's just me who's tired as F, but most of what you just wrote didn't make sense, at least to me.

I doubt there would be much of an audible difference..

Well, someone might not even have resources to get the stuff needed to actually record and mix nice sounding stuff. Or they mix what THEY think sound good, you might not think it sounds good then. Also, most music is made in higher quality files, and CD's are high quality, but MP3 below 250 or so kbps might not sound good, although most people won't be able to tell the difference between 320 kbps MP3 and FLAC files.
  7. Very different headphones really, the 280's are very flat, detailed studio monitors, while the 598's are a more listening oriented headphone, and more "forgiving" if you know what I mean.
  8. build quality and comfort, and Sennheiser pretty much do what they want..
  9. It should be just fine, but these are open headphones, so they won't isolate anything.
  10. You can get that on amazon for like 15 dollars atm. http://www.amazon.com/Shure-HPASCA1-Professional-Headphones-Straight/dp/B001O8UAV6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1395278026&sr=8-6&keywords=shure+cable
  11. Sennheiser HD518 is your best bet IMO.
  12. or if people think they want M50's because "they are flat", which they aren't, SRH440's with 840 pads would be a step in the right direction, towards flatter headphones. or Sony MDR-v6 or 7506, which are even flatter.
  13. If you wanna be doing music stuff and things, SRH440's would be better than DT770's and Crossfades, because they are flatter. and with 840 pads, they are very comfortable. Review in signature!
  14. amazon? edit: lemme go see if I find it I think this is the 3 meter straight one. http://www.amazon.com/Shure-HPASCA1-Professional-Headphones-Straight/dp/B001O8UAV6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1395273853&sr=8-6&keywords=shure+840
  15. the cable is coiled, so it might be a tiny bit heavy, but the cable is only like 1 meter coiled up, and stretched out it's about 3 meters. You can buy a straight cable though. and they don't clamp much, so glasses shouldn't be an issue.
  16. I'd just use the (usually) built in EQ in whatever music playing program you use. Spotify doesn't have one though, afaik.
  17. if they just tangle like that, the cable isn't straight, it's twisted in some way. If a cable has been spun around 360 degrees, if it can it will tangle. the best way to straighten it is to just lift the headset up, so the cable hangs freely, and allow the cable to spin out and straighten. really. try it.
  18. >implying plastic is bad Sennheiser makes good headphones, 558's plus a snowflake would be a good choice. or the 518 if he wants a tiny bit more bass.
  19. I have not tried those.. WOOOOOOOOO

    PC360

50 ohms isn't a lot, should work just fine.
  21. I actually found a way to mod the rubber band in the headband, instead of cutting a new hole, I just tied a small knot on the rubber band inside the headband, and just bent the two metal things that go over by a little (or a lot) of force. I forgot to take pics when I was doing it, so can't show you, but it was an alright way of doing it.
  22. I have the same audio solution on my Sabertooth 990FX R2, and it sounds just as good as my Xonar D2X soundcard, it'll probably be just fine.
