  1. they are about as good technically, they are a better value when bought new though.
  2. wait if you got 0,499 it would mean that you got 0,078 ohm output impedance if I did the math correctly? Something has to be wrong then cus Aune says it's got a 10 ohm output impedance, lol
  3. yeah mostly the bass. If you're super unlucky like me, your IEM's will be really low in volume, and if they are- don't turn up the volume for gods sake, that's how I broke my J33's LOL
  4. Try some low impedance headphones on it versus a phone or amp you know has low output impedance?
  5. Depends on how high the output impedance really is, they might have set the gain to appropriate levels and gotten good output impedance, but on the graphs in the spec sheet, the low end impedance is ridiculous:
  6. Well they might sound good, but the soundstage is super narrow and the pads are also some of the worst I've used.
  7. Not for me, for me they are almost on-ear, but considering nearly everyone else says they are big enough, it makes me think my ears are large.

    Budget Headset

You said that open and closed are equally good for gaming, this is not true. open headphones have wider soundstages, which gives you more accurate positional audio. Closed have a more in-your-head sound.
  9. You've got the MSI Audio Boost one though, the "powerful 600 ohm headphone amplifier" thing. Considering the OPA1652 used in it, it has anywhere between 1K and 1 ohm output impedance, found here: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/opa1652.pdf Could you do us a favor and measure / calculate the output impedance of it so we have an actual number for it?
  10. I just envisioned you invading the US on a raft
  11. wait. drivers for the headset? wat? OH it's the Kraken USB, I see. USB can be derpy sometimes.
  12. I don't even know if I wanna join this.... fuck it. Onboard audio is good. Seriously good. the Realtek series is good, ALC 889, 892, 898, 1150, all of those are actually great. the DAC's have good specs, although some have slightly high noise floors. the small amps are transparent, and have low output impedance. Granted, they don't have a lot of power, but it should be just fine on sensitive / low impedance headphones. I myself very rarely go past 30% with my ALC892, using Shure SRH440, Pioneer SE-A1000, CHC Silverado or very rarely the Audio-Technica ATH-M50S. with IEM's (JBL J33 and Soundmagic PL50) I rarely go past 15%, so it definitely gets loud enough. Haven't had the chance to use less efficient headphones though, such as the 250 ohm Beyers, or the Sennheiser HD600 or 650, although I've heard numerous reports of them working just fine on onboard audio. Objectively, if an amp changes the actual sound instead of just the volume, it's a bad amp. Some might like it, but it's better to go with a transparent solution and let the headphones do the talking, or use an EQ. I'm willing to bet that you can EQ your way to make it sound like a tube amp. I do actually have a soundcard in my PC, an ASUS Xonar D2X, which I use for speakers right now because I can't be bothered using them for headphones as onboard sounds exactly the same, and doesn't break IEM's like my D2X did with my first pair of JBL J33's. that's the high output impedance for ya.
  13. Are you sure all the jacks are properly connected? if that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall drivers.

    That was pretty cool

    Best Headset?

    You're lacking an amp there
  16. Please never recommend the M50 for gaming, the soundstage in it is the worst I've ever used in a game. DT770's are lightyears ahead.
  17. I tried the Logitech surround thing once, and compared to my Shure SRH440 (which have a slightly narrow soundstage) it was actually worse. for CS:GO, good headphones and using the "headphone" sound option is the best way to go. Do you need (sound) isolating headphones?
  18. You two never fail to entertain
  19. This. low bitrate hihats and other cymbals make me puke.
  20. I think what you guys don't seem to understand is that DayZ Standalone is an entirely new game. the ArmA 2 mod was exactly that, a mod. It added some stuff on top of an old game, and there you had it. the Standalone on the other hand is a game built ground-up. sure, there was already an engine for it, but that's just the engine and developing kits. they've made new models for almost everything, they added new mechanics, the new inventory system, they added a brand new vehicle made from scratch, new weapons with excellent models, actual bullet drop and zeroing, diseases including prion diseases if you eat human meat, there's a good eating and drinking system, item degrading, item throwing, new ragdoll, and the list goes on. The game has only been in development for two years. that's not a lot in dev time, and there has happened a lot in that time. And it's not like it's a big development team either. I don't understand the hate towards Dean Hall, he made a good mod, which then other people modded further on, and then he got a team, got help from Bohemia, and made a brand new game. And if you start complaining more about bugs: it's still in alpha. Beta is coming sometime next year. and if you start complaining "how can they sell an unfinished game??": It's called early-access for a reason.
  21. Bad news. the site I bought my harddrives off reports the wrong warranty, it's 2 years. sneaky bastards at Seagate, the drives died after two years and two months. I was able to get a slightly extended warranty though, but only if I registered my RMA within the two hours after my Warranty thing was filed. Went to their website, it still didn't work. At this point, I'd rather go for new, different harddrives anyway, I'm looking at WD Reds right now, as I never liked going through RMA and Tech Support and such.
  22. and I was hoping you'd be a King Diamond fan just there lol
  23. Yeah according to the site where I bought it, it has a 3 year warranty. I'm currently running the chkdsk thing, and I'm sitting here listening to the harddrive making scraping noises and frequent beeps. now if only it was simple to navigate Seagate's support...
