  1. Just wondering if anyone who's been paying a bit more attention to the pricing of these hold 7000s might be able to explain why im seeing prices from 200-800 for used HD 7950s? I have an old gigabyte windforce 7950 i've been sitting on as a spare for a while, and was about to throw it at a friend for a few bucks before I noticed. Whats going on here 0.o from what I saw at a few places, it apparently had something to do with mining
  2. It's been well over 6 years since I've taken a serious look at laptops, and going through everything now it all seems a bit more than "new" to me. Of course I've noticed the obvious convertibles tablets/laptops, the 2lb razor thin, and the 6lb hulks, and the on-board vs dedicated graphics. The price range however has been throwing me off. An i5 with onboard is about the same price as an i7 with an 850 in it, and the only significant difference I see is doubling the weight. I'm basically just wondering if there's any brands that should generally be avoided, and if the size and weight have become major dictators in laptop pricing.
  3. I recently switched from the 7h to the cloud 2, and while I'm definitely enjoying how comfortable the cloud 2 is I've been having an issue with the cord connected to the headset being able to pull in and out a little bit. I know from previous dinky headsets that this often gives me a few weeks before I start losing sound in one ear and a month or 2 before the headset dies completely. Is this something I should be contacting warranty for or is this a common-doesn't-lead-to-any-issues type of thing?
  4. Tried using a new router, getting the same issue. Giving my ISP a call at this point
  5. My ISP only provides a modem. I'll try picking up another router unless theres something besides resetting I can try. I'll post back here if it works
  6. I checked on my laptop over WiFi, and it's showing the same issue, random connection time outs at the same time as my PC
  7. They hadn't been bothered recently prior to the issues starting, i'll have to pick up another cable later to check
  8. packet loss was 4, the same amount of connection time outs.
  9. Over the last couple days i've been having an issue with my connection timing out for short periods of time. I first started noticing in games like Dota2 and Dayz, and then later checked with the windows ping command. A few days ago, I did an overall update of my PC with windows updates, graphics drivers, and several drivers through gigabyte. A few of the things i've tried so far include Clean install of graphic drivers Reset router Reinstalled (both old and new) intel network drivers I've had nothing work, and it seems to come and go in severity, during one part of the day it will be a constant issue, and at other times it is barely noticeable. Any suggestions?
  10. i've got a 970 and a 4570. It's not awful but I can feel it when playing dayz and the like
  11. If you ever plan on heading over to Saskatchewan, rogers has around zero service. In terms of customer care sasktel and virgin mobile are the only 2 companies i'm ever willing to give a bit of a nod. Had horrible experiences with Bell for other services in the past, Rogers is in the same boat. Telus always seems to have hoards of complaints. If you haven't looked at virgin mobile, might want to give them a quick look over
  12. known about them for how long, yet still surprised how small they are
  13. Just wondering if any of the sony Xperia* Z3 users can recommend a decent case? *Edited
  14. A few bragging rights and a nice bit of future proofing for school. Always wondered what it would be like to have a CPU under 90% load
