TLDR: Capture card @60hz / Monitor @75hz When cloned, both are at @60hz How to clone without limiting monitor hz? Long Story: So I recently set up a Stream PC to help me out with, well, streaming... After MUCH troubleshooting (Try running a finicky USB 3 capture card on a gen-1 i7 system through a 3.0 riser card with hacked drivers... would not recommend), I FINALLY got a signal. Issue is I'm running a 75hz LG monitor over HDMI, and a second off of DVI. The only way I managed to get a signal in to the capture card was through my second DVI port with a DVI>HDMI converter. ***However, doing so requires cloning my monitor and the capture card as one monitor... limiting it at 60hz.*** Does anyone know a way to clone my monitor without limiting the refresh rate? The HDMI pass-through won't work for me for a number of reasons, so please, I would appreciate a software/1st PC solution! :3 (TY) PC 1: i7 3770k / GTX 970 PC 2: i7 870 / GTX 750Ti / Avermedia Game Capture Extreme

Ah I see, silly me, thanks for the info! Any idea if something like this would be possible through DisplayFusion, or some other software?

Can't seem to find any info about this so here goes: How well does DisplayFusion software work with OBS + Running two virtual monitors? I'm looking at getting an Lg 29" ultrawide for a mixture of productivity and gaming. The gamut, response, and resolution are a good mix IMO between accuracy, and ability to be run by my current hardware (GTX 970). The only issue I could see would not be in photography/video/personal gaming, but in the occasional game capture I'd require. Since streaming/recording in 21:9 is still quite far from "norm", would it be possible to play a fullscreen game in one section of the screen? My ideal scenario would be splitting up this monitor into a 16:9 section to run "fullscreen" games, a 5:9 section to read chat, and then a second monitor for video preview. TL:DL Can I run a fullscreen, 16:9 game alongside a 5:9 usable window, using one monitor? Anyone have experience with this software or others? TY!

Heyo, I'm currently looking at two used groups of parts: i7 3770 + HyperX 16gb + Asrock z75 Pro 3 ($300) i7 2600k + G.Skill 16gb + AsRock P67 Pro ($350) The ram differences are negligible, yet I haven't owned either of the two processors or motherboards. I'm unsure whether or not it would be worth it to go with the 2600k as it could be overclocked reasonably far... Then again, I'm currently on a Hyper 212 Evo, so not quite sure how far I could go anyway. And while the 3770 is technically newer, the P67 board looks slightly higher quality. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Woah, I wish I had one of those boxes sitting in front of me... I'd use it for video production, streaming, as well as CAD and Rhino work (since I'm studying Architecture). Would do for a much needed upgrade over my current baby, probably going to get one if I can find some money, but that would take a while.

Thanks for the reply, not quite what I was hoping to hear, but it got me thinking that there may be a way to kinda force the monitor to do that.... Going to do more research!

Hey! Relatively new to the forums, not so much LinusTechTips, however I was wondering if anyone knows about the split screen capabilities of LG's 21:9 monitors, specifically the Um95 and UC97. While I still have a bit more to save up, I was wondering how well the split screen functionality works on these monitors. I know of the software-end splitting that lets you divide a workspace, It certainly works with spreadsheets and word, etc. But would that work if you were playing a game in fullscreen 16:9, and say monitoring a twitch chat in the remaining 5:9 portion of the screen? I have doubts about it since it seems to only provide a windows-like snap effect... How about the hardware split screen? I've seen it accept dual inputs, however the screen always splits directly in half, and for games, that leaves a lot of black space around. Does anyone know of a way to properly split the screen into two distinct sections that don't weirdly compress the input? Thanks a ton. I've tried LG support, but those people are idiots and seem like they don't even want to admit they make the monitor... <3 Eri
