I say air coolers. Linus even made a vid where a beefy air cooler beat a much more expensive AIO by quite a bit

The Coolermaster boards are good. At their price point you probably won't find another board with RGB and genuine Cherries.

Yeah they are pretty terrible. They have flashy gamer colors and appeal but that's it. There only semi decent product is their death adder and black widow. Even then I know someone who went through 5 death adders in 2 years because keys failing. Don't even start on their laptops too

Many manufacturer's are trying to make a standard for RGB, think Asus Aura, MSI Mystic Light, etc.
At this point, it's basically like this:
In theory it should be possible, but I am sure most manufacturers want to lock you in their eco system, so that when you get Corsair RGB fans, you have to get their strip and controller too.. And some for all other manufacturers.
