Looking for a laptop for the women, it won’t be for gaming, just crafts, surfing, YouTube etc. so I’m guessing a stong cpu? Seems good laptops from last few years have DOUBLED in price. Ouch. You use to get like an i7 plus a gtx 2060 for 500, now seems you can’t get shit lol Im kinda liking acrer aspire 5 with an i5. Thanks for the tips.

Just messing around with some CPU oc and benchmarks and I notice in firestrike the combined score is all over the place. Ranging from like 12k to 20k. And oriole with my system tend to get 21-23k. Is this benchmark just shit or does firestrike or windows 11 have a problem scheduling all cores? Using 13900ks and 4090.

What made it worse was when I ordered it online, said in stock 1 hour pick up. Well 9 days later it finally arrived at the store for pick up. But it was split down the middle. Hoping this next one im picking up tomorrow is in perfect condition. About the bowing, i just didnt know if the wood would dry out or something and warp. So if its just up to me mounting it right then thats good. I will be mounting it to this desk frame, seems ok.

Went from a gtx 1060 to a rtx 4090 and an 4790k to a 13900ks, i about crapped my pants from the performance upgrade.

99% of the time you will be GPU bound so the cpu won’t matter much.

Just got a 72x39. 1.5” thick burcherblock, was wondering if I need to seal it or anything to prevent bowing. I think I wanna use espresso stain, but not sure what brand is good. So if I need to seal it what do I use? I have never worked with wood so it’s all new to me.
