  1. So what would be a good price range that I should be shooting for? I'm seeing everything from low $500 to $750 on ebay. I read that gpus used for crypto mining might not be so good and I'm just worried that the cheapest gpus might have been used for miningor have some other faults
  2. Why would you pick the 2070 over the 1080 TI? Also, it says in your link that 550W PSU is recommended, so what makes you say that I'd need to upgrade my PSU? I'm new to all of this so I'm just curious and want to learn the thinking behind your advice
  3. I'm currently working on building my first pc and am having trouble choosing my gpu. I've bought a 2700x for my CPU and already have a 1080p 144hz monitor and plan on buying another one later on in the future. I was looking at the rtx 2070, used 1080 TI, 1080, or 1070ti and was wondering what would be the best gpu for my build? All advice or tips are welcome https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6yVPHh

  5. Hey guys, As the title suggests, I'm building my first pc and looking for any advice or pointers. I'm in the US and looking to build a computer to get into gaming (I've been game deprived using a MacBook I bought back in 2009) and to do some data science work. I've slowly started buying parts as they go on sales (psu, monitor, hard drives so far), but I've been having trouble pulling the trigger on the bigger purchases for parts where I don't know too much about (gpus, CPU, and ram mostly). For example, the 2700x is on sale for 289.99 atm, but I'm not sure if that's a good deal or if I even need a 2700x for my setup. I'm trying to keep my total cost under 2k but I can be flexible if it's worth the cost. I'm mostly aiming for the best value for my money. 6. I have been using an old 2008 macbook since I first started college, and I have finally saved up some money to buy my way back to the promised land of the PC. I would like to get back into gaming (it has been a long time) and will be mostly using it as a workstation with the occasional audio editing. Since Cyber Monday is coming up, I figure now is the perfect time to make my move. I have around $1600USD saved and will need to buy monitors and all the necessary peripherals as well since I am upgrading from a laptop. I also don't need to buy Windows as my university offers it to students for free. I would really like to have a dual monitor setup with a nice mechanical keyboard, but if that cuts too much into the performance at my budget level, I am willing to push back that upgrade until I save up some more money. Any help is welcome and much appreciated!
  7. I'ld appreciate an invite. I've been using my brother's old HTC Radar running Windows 7.8 since coming back from working in a developing country.
